Too much criticism for McBurnie?

It's hard to criticise someone for not being good enough.
He's trying his best & he seems a good lad, but we shouldn't have bought him.
He doesn't have enough for this level. He'll do really well up in Scotland for Rangers, or any side in the second tier... which is where we're heading. So we may as well stick by him unless we get a silly offer (which is unlikely).

The bloke is an utter and complete waste of a fucking shirt and should just fuck off!

Can you field 2 empty shirts? Because none of our strikers make that good a case for selection really.

If we put them near the goal the GK might fall over them and we might score.

unfortunately he's paid to score goals & as well as played for the team today. you cant miss the chances he did today

Agree. Which is why I've been saying for a few weeks we should lose a striker and play with 4 in midfield. Try & get a foothold in games again.

We desperately need to do something, either 4 at the back or 4 in midfield.

Despite what Wilder's saying every week, it is the system. With the players we have missing and the players we have that have no form, the swashbuckling football is just buckling football.

I'd pack the midfield, see if Berge & Norwood can play together as a pair & try & counter attack teams with Burke and Mousset rotating up front. I don't think we have the personnel to go with 4 in defence. Let's roll our sleeves up & at least be hard to beat. It won't be pretty but what we're seeing isn't anyway.

He wouldn't get in the Rangers side!!!

I think we could do a 4 at the back, and it'd mean we could leave Egan and one other back instead of 1 since we're being countered on so often. I think Ampadu and Stevens on the left might actually provide a bit of structure there though so we can continue with 5, if both are fit for West Brom.

I said we should play 1 up top last season because we never utilise 2 strikers in the way teams usually utilise 2 strikers, they're always out wide or dropping deep.

So yeah, I'd go for the extra man in midfield right now even if it doesn't mean we start scoring 2 a game, it'd help us defensively, we're so easy to get through, 3 passes and you're in our box.

Chance, not plural. The header and volley weren’t chances. The one that hit the bar should have been scored. The others would have been good goals but unlikely.

i wouldve said header was decent. but thats football great to have different opinions. but vardy is always bar for me. when he was 1 on 1 we knew he would bury it.

Glancing through this thread is like a trip to the Twilight Zone. McBurnie a poacher! Well he probably would be if he was at his vocation, chef at a MacDonalds.

He scuffed a sitter wide in his first game - fortunately it went to Billy Sharp and he poked it in
He missed an open goal at Liverpool from one yard, scooping to the goaly at the opposite side of the goal.
This year he was 'better' that that. He took twenty minutes to get the ball under control and scuffed it wide from 10 yards.
He has scored THE worst goal I have ever seen v WHU last year. A scuffer so bad the goaly dived over and away from it and never played again and was sacked from the club.
It was said in the week he had scored two goals in his last 30 appearances for club and country.
It was said today pre game it was 18 since he last scored.
HE IS UNDER NO PRESSURE !
There is no crowd and is playing for a manager who plays him EVERY moment despite him being shite.
He is ,making football history.
In 100 years time parents in Sheffield and Scotland will still be asking their small children," Do you want a WeeWee or a McBurnie".
I tweeted to Saudi 49 when I saw the team sack him now.
He's given away the best players.
He's paid a fortune for shite like this.
He picks his favourites regardless eg McBurnie.
They is not point keeping a manager who cannot judge his best (young) players and cannot sign good ones. Fleck blah balh - he must have signed a good 40. NONE as good as those he has given away.

Name a player who would have done that?
I really don’t know, maybe I’m just pissed off and being harsh. He made the chance well but it needed another yard of height to be an excellent header.

I meant more a ‘top striker’ not just a run of the mill PL striker. Someone like Drogba would have eaten it up, Fowler, Shearer, Sheringham, Cole.

What is very clear after yesterday that when people defend McBurnie say he isn't getting the service they mean he hasn't been presented with an open goal with the goalkeeper on the floor, which seems to be the only scenario he might score a goal in.

He's been absolutely terrible for club and country for months now, no excuses. He was making a run in the first half, and oh my, it looked like he was in 2ft of mud. Needs to lay off the beers.
