(Yes, Cannon again) summed up today where much of the problem lies

I remember Wilder once said to a RS interviewer some time ago something like 'If you were to go up for a header with me, you wouldn't be winning it. 100% you wouldn't'
I got the distinct impression he was talking about absolute commitment, absolute determination, and personal pride.
When Ings put a great cross in, Cannon looked like he was more concerned about maintining the look of his hair than thundering in to get to the ball before the defender, taking him out at the same time if necessary.
We are a million f*****g miles away from that, not just with Cannon, but with pretty much the whole team.
'You've got to DIE to get 3 points' a manager once said, who demanded that level of effort and commitment ....and got it.
With that one pathetic 'effort' to get to the header in, I'd fine Cannon a week's wages and if that didn't work, dump him in the u-23s.
We need players to give back of themselves enough to justify their ridiculous pay packets.

Wilder needs to swallow his pride and leave Cannon out of the squad. It's totally unfair on One, the fans and the rest of the squad that this waste of space is getting minutes.

I can give him a little bit of slack when he comes on for the last 10 minutes when we're defending a lead. Most strikers wouldn't thrive in that situation.

We've now seen him 25 times though. Starting and as a sub, in leading situations, drawing situations and losing situations. We've seen him up front in a two, we've seen him up front alone, and we've seen him wide in a three. There are no excuses any more. He's been absolutely fucking anonymous in whatever situation he's been in. I don't understand how anyone can actually defend him any more (I don't think there are many left that do, to be fair).

The worst thing is, I'd like to blame the management for putting him on the pitch, but I can't because there's no fucker else that can come on other than Ryan Oné, who is also miles off it!

Ings ?

Unsure how Cannons 18mins is the focus point of the defeat. 🤯
because when he comes on its like playing with 10. You put men on to try and get a goal, draw, or even win it. In the past we've won games we were losing in the last ten minutes, the famous Egan goal he got in Extra time to win us the match. Canon epitomises the current state of play within the team. Its not in the highlights wish it was but Ings went down the left of the box and Canon ran into the box, stopped before the penalty spot and was motionless watching Ings, who then crossed the ball, you knew it was coming yet Canon just watched it go into the six yard box, no anticipation, nothing. Like he just couldnt be bothered.

I'd agree with that but only if we get another striker in, even if its a free transfer for now.

Then loan Cannon to Preston in January as we were going to.

I think getting at least one other striker in January is a given
