Slow of feet, slow of mind. Don't get the insistence. Maybe his finishing is AAA or something, whatever it is he has, we're not seeing it.

His finishing must be the only positive because nothing else is .Slow of feet, slow of mind. Don't get the insistence. Maybe his finishing is AAA or something, whatever it is he has, we're not seeing it.
He must k ow himself it’s not working. He’s like post-injury Shaun Miller where he looks like he’s forgotten how to play football or control his own legs.
If you’re a striker:Shit scared of a physical challenge, can’t control a ball, no pace and total waste of a position in the team. Just get rid of him.
I’ll tell you , absolutely nothingCan someone please explain to me what he offers? I have no idea, looks like a passenger every game he plays.
You and your flipping common senseNow is the time to sell him.
His goals at Stoke are not quite a distant memory for some yet.
He’s still of an age just about to be perceived as young with potential.
With at least a couple of years left on his contract he’s not in that vortex yet that sucks value from him due to time left.
Optimise what we can this window then go again.
In fact using the money to go and buy the winger from Boreham Wood would be a surprisingly smart move for us.
Then perhaps loan a different type of forward.
Ha ha….. Dougie Brown - now there a blast from the past!!! Relegation to 4th Division season 1980/81. Yes I remember him - he was truly awful - but sadly Cannon offers as little to the team as he did.I genuinely feel sorry for the lad
Forget the wages he's on etc.. he's a human being with feelings...
It's almost as though knows he's not up to it, he couldn't get off the field quick enough yesterday when the double substitution happened. He was the second one announced but was off the field even before the first one happened...
It was like "I hate it here and they hate me as a player too, fuck this.."
He's up there with Dougie Brown as the worst player seen by me in a United shirt, a shameful indictment....
Needs moving on for his and the clubs sake...
On the floor. What strengths are they then?
Can you ask AI how many times he was expected to win an aerial duel against their CBs?His stats todays match with AI's view:
This was a poor, low-involvement performance for a centre-forward. Cannon received a 6.0 rating, which is below average and reflects limited impact. In 60 minutes he had only 15 touches — extremely low for any outfield player, especially a striker expected to be central to attacking play. He offered almost no goal threat and struggled to influence the game.Attacking contribution (very weak)
Interpretation: Cannon was almost completely isolated or ineffective in the final third. A striker with zero shots and minimal progressive actions in an hour is a major concern. The single accurate cross and two final-third passes show he occasionally got into advanced positions, but he could not convert that into meaningful threat.
- 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 chances created
- 0 shots (on or off target) → shot accuracy 0/0
- Only 2 accurate passes out of 6 (33% accuracy)
- 0/1 successful dribbles
- 2 passes into the final third and 1/1 accurate crosses (the rare positive)
- 1 offside
Defensive & work-rate side (modest)
He put in a small amount of defensive work (typical for a modern striker who drops deep or presses), but nothing standout.
- 1 defensive contribution
- 1 clearance (headed)
- 1 recovery
- 0 tackles
Duels & physical battles (poor)
Interpretation: He lost the majority of physical contests. As a striker, especially one who often relies on hold-up play or winning aerial balls, a 20% aerial success rate and zero ground duel wins is disappointing.
- Ground duels: 0/2 (0%)
- Aerial duels: 1/5 (20%)
- Fouled: 0 | Fouls committed: 1
- Dispossessed: 0 (positive — he didn’t lose the ball when he had it)
In the few short minutes that Oné was on, he gambled on a header and had a shot on target (he was offside, but it was the right movement)... he then made a fantastic run down the left where he showed pace, power and balance and it nearly led to something.
Sadly, he pulled his hamstring in the latter event.. but he was so much more confident and decisive than Cannon in those two actions... If it's true that Oné is frustrated at his lack of game time, then it's understandable given who's keeping him out of the team.
The minutes we're investing in Cannon needs to go into Oné's development now. He's a better player and a home grown asset for the books. If any scouts were watching today, they'll have been left very intrigued about Oné, because his profile is rare.
Osula is already being spoken of as a £40m player...

Cannon's progress is being hampered by Kevin Blackwell-ball
He will end up in div 1 or 2 at best ok we may not play to his strengths but what are they? Doesn't show any anger at his fellow team mates when no service to him..Aggression! hasn't got any so what does he give us? Nothing ! what surprises me is Wilder seems to like him ! We have to move him on even at a loss frustrating player! You can't expect Cannon to be able to do much when he gets a high ball and is up against one of the 8ft tall Brum CB's just as Sharpe wouldn't have had any success.
BUT Sharpe would have niggled and annoyed the 8ft defender. What's baffling for me is that Cannon doesn't even try to be a nuisance. If he goes towards the goalie after a pass back he runs up and then slows down before he gets near, as if he's afraid to upset them.
Do we have a sports psychologist who could teach Cannon to get annoyed or aggresive? He could at least give whoever sends him the hopeless passes a gob full. He appears to have no 'pashun' as CW would call it - so even more baffling than Cannon having none is CW picking him regardless.
Or is it that he's just not our type of player and would be better off elsewhere?
