Well he managed to last 1.5 games before getting injured again. I'm guessing we won't see him now for weeks.I see they've banned him from wearing heels, probbaly due to his ligaments and muscles being made from rich tea biscuits
He’s finished at Prem & Champ level after his contract expires this summer with us. Shame for a very talented footballer - but his body simply is not up to it anymore. It's just sad for the lad.
Really difficult to see him getting another serious contract.
Not a fan of the jokes, I'd say he's pretty heartbroken to not be able to do what he loves.
He's had a lot of mental health struggles that are no doubt linked to his constant cycles of disappointment & rehab.
The way he was holding his leg suggested it more on the internal side of the thigh ( Adductor(s)) not an easy fix either way.The one yesterday looked like an impact injury - maybe I'm stretching, he certainly was, but as he went for a ball, their player caught him just above the Knee, with the what looked like the studs. Not sure how you protect from those types of injuries, without pulling out of challenges, which would see Davis criticised for a different issue. He's got a full blooded style so, for him, maybe these things are par for the course.
Is 'pay as you play' a real thing? I always see it suggested but can't think of anyone who's been on that sort of deal.Unfortunately he seems unable to recover properly from an old injury. Similar to Michael Owen in that respect - great player, but his body simply isn't up to it.
He'll probably get a pay-as-you-play deal somewhere. I'd keep him if those were the terms.
It is, but it’s now just someone accepting a lower base salary and then having a heavily incentivised contract based on playing time and availability. It’s not the old school ‘don’t play and you get nowt’ contract. Is 'pay as you play' a real thing? I always see it suggested but can't think of anyone who's been on that sort of deal.
It must be, plenty of players out there that spend more time on the physio table than the pitch so it's the only logical solution. Is 'pay as you play' a real thing? I always see it suggested but can't think of anyone who's been on that sort of deal.
