If you’re a striker:
Be big and difficult to shake off like Shipperly, Moore, etc.
Be quick and tricky like Ndiaye, Kabba etc.
Be a top marksman like Sharp or Edwards etc.

He comes nowhere near ticking any of those boxes. Maybe Stoke found a better way of using him but there is nothing to suggest this investment pays off for us. Oné on the other hand, you can see something to work with.

Every good Wilder CF has been good physically. Sharp, Leon, Moose (for a time), Bamford, Campbell (when fit), even Madine and Moore. There's nothing about Cannons game that indicates, even if he was competent, that he'd be a success here.

Ha ha….. Dougie Brown - now there a blast from the past!!! Relegation to 4th Division season 1980/81. Yes I remember him - he was truly awful - but sadly Cannon offers as little to the team as he did.

I am more than happy with Wilder as manager. I can't see any better option under these circumstances and he got 92 points only the season before last, with a lot of the same players we have now. But if he keeps starting Tom Cannon, he's going to find most of the fan base, including me, turning against him.

There will always be bad players and we'll make bad signings, every club does, but you cannot just keep playing him on the hope that he magically becomes something that resembles a footballer. He has absolutely nothing to offer.

Notwithstanding Cannons ability or lack of , playing up front in this team must be absolute purgatory for strikers .

We create very little and hardly get the ball into the box ,10 touches in the box yesterday.

Cannon and Bamford were poor but they were feeding of scraps 30 yards from goal generally losing the ball with little support around them .

Apart from the 1 on 1 chance , neither were wasteful in front of goal as they weren't in front if goal. Through balls were consistently over hit , too few crosses of any quality .

Although the transfer window extended into the season is bemoaned by managers including our own , it may well be our saving grace .

In the few short minutes that Oné was on, he gambled on a header and had a shot on target (he was offside, but it was the right movement)... he then made a fantastic run down the left where he showed pace, power and balance and it nearly led to something.

Sadly, he pulled his hamstring in the latter event.. but he was so much more confident and decisive than Cannon in those two actions... If it's true that Oné is frustrated at his lack of game time, then it's understandable given who's keeping him out of the team.

The minutes we're investing in Cannon needs to go into Oné's development now. He's a better player and a home grown asset for the books. If any scouts were watching today, they'll have been left very intrigued about Oné, because his profile is rare.
Osula is already being spoken of as a £40m player...

That was the difference, for me, with One and any other striker we have.

When he made that run down the left, Brum had to put three players on him, to stop him, and he powered his way through at his first attempt, and they managed to get the ball at the second attempt. They would not need to use that sort of effort against anyone else, including Bamford.

If One had started the game, and had made that run in the first 10 minutes, the Birmingham team would have been on "Danger Warning" anytime he was near the ball, dragging their players with him and making space for our other players to exploit.

Just hoping he is not out for too long with the pulled hamstring.

Or is it that he's just not our type of player and would be better off elsewhere?

He will end up in div 1 or 2 at best ok we may not play to his strengths but what are they? Doesn't show any anger at his fellow team mates when no service to him..Aggression! hasn't got any so what does he give us? Nothing ! what surprises me is Wilder seems to like him ! We have to move him on even at a loss frustrating player!

2. For him to move it would need to be a team playing 2 up front. They are a rare commodity these days. Finding a team with the funds and the formation is really threading the needle. I think he will be here until his contract runs out.

I think it's clutching at straws to say that he can even play off the last man. He's had multiple one-on-one situations that he's fluffed (including one at Hillsborough). It's just an easy thing to say because we don't see much of that in today's game, and therefore the thing we don't see must be the thing he's good at.
