Who would be a realistic replacement? Let's say we get 3m from the Osula deal and and COH chuck in 1m. Who would be a genuine improvement on Cannon / the squad for 4m max?

Noah Ohio Dutch under 21 international at Utrecht formerly of Man U and also of has English nationality he’s on the fringes of their squad but looked good on loan at Hull a few years ago before their mad situation meant they didn’t play him as much as they should but he’s a great athlete he’d offer us more than Cannon and would be a good option off the bench for us behind Campbell and Ings with the potential to be a lot more than that if he fulfils his early potential.

Couple of million probably gets it done.

He isn't. Cannon has more experience at this level. Marsh is a better footballer in my opinion.
But they are completely different players so not always easy to make direct comparisons.

We need an option of a tall, strong forward as a target man for crosses in the air from wingers, and as someone to hold the ball up when cleared from defence. At the moment we have been playing Campbell in the role of central striker on his own. Both him, and Danny Ings, would benefit from playing off a genuine big target man as a front two.
Selles needs also to decide how to prevent teams exploiting us down the wings, as all opponents are likely to do that having watched the M'boro game.

He's been the most baffling signing we've ever made. We didn't even need a striker, had just signed BBD, and just lost Souttar.

So to go and splash £10 million or whatever it was just smacked of swinging our dick around to show everyone we had money to spend. I do actually feel bad for Cannon.

A lot of our fanbase wrote him off quick given the fee the board willingly paid for him, thus he had to start quick to merit the price.

Granted, he's a young, English striker - fees would be like that & out of his control.

He also looks better in a 2, thus needs a partner rather than be a lone figure. We've not played to that, much. He also then hardly got opportunities in the cameo appearances/ minutes given.

I still think there is a good striker -at this level- in him & we should persist. A change of manager/ change of shape could benefit him massively, Also, it's 11th hour for us to find a suitable target/ replacement to not leave us short too...
