Kone.

Greedy side says Kone and Riis.
Probaby agree. Kone probably biggest potential. Dream would be to become a team that has enough funds to loan out young Championship talent when we are in the PL and take them back if we go down. Shea Charles and Cannon are obviously good Championship players, not needed by their parent club gaining significant value. Kone would take us away from that natural food chain order

Just checked - Riis is far from prolific ain’t he? Or is it gonna be the “put him in a better team” debate. Kone everyday of the week for me.

Seems to be a lot of 'experts' writing him off even before signing. Different club on a permanent deal with new tactics, players and management can do wonders for a player. As for the fee, he is young and worth the punt imo. It may or may not work out.

January is a tricky time to buy players, but the thing is, we don't have time if we want to be promoted this year. Remember, we only need these players to get us up into the Prem this year.

If we are looking to solidify the fast attacking wing forwards into our DNA over the next year or two then Cannon might be ideal on the end of everything

That Keith Edwards hes really shit he can't play football he does fuck all just look at him, Oh he's scored. 7 Million for a top rated championship striker is ridiculously expensive. I could get almost half of a McBurnie or a Brewster for that, well nearly half, alright a third. Let him go to Sunderland, he scores ten crappy goals that get them promoted at our expense it'll only cost us 150 million pounds. Lets get the kid from league one whose scored some goals. Edwards only scored thirty five odd a season at that level. I agree buy the kid from league one but maybe as has been suggested we get both.

Looking at the rumoured asking price alone, it appears steep.

But let's not forget how inflated the market has become since the ridiculous Neymar transfer - which saw a trickle down impact throughout the football league. If Brewster went for £20m, Rhodes for £15m etc then the fee probably sounds about right.

Not to say I agree with it - transfers have gotten absolutely ridiculous, but in today's market it is probably about right.

“top rated” he’s scored a few penalties and 4 goals in a game. That half of MCB were the leading goal scorer in this league the season before we’d signed him.

Has a typical feel of: 'Leicetser leak as 7m' + then you go over the numbers once he has signed and it includes fees for getting promoted (woop) scoring in the PL etc etc. Basically safe guarding Leicester that they haven't royally f*cked up. I'm torn on it, guess it all depends on how much of the budget / wealth of our owners it eats into. Having an asset versus paying 2m + to loan JRS type thoughts

I'm thinking too much into it but Cannon is more prepared to take us to that next level than Riis would do. No clue what that Kone is like, so won't pretend i know

Don't Leicester have to cut their cloth due to more FFP charges looming. If so, then guessing they'll want a quick sale and be happy to settle for lots of add-ons ontop of a smaller fee.

Just my guess though

haven't seen enough of Kone but it seems very likely that at these prices he's a better punt than Cannon

Why are we "punting"?
If we have the money, go and get the best for the job. I'd rather spend £7m on a player that is scoring in the league we are in as opposed to half that on a player that's never played at this level

Kone is probably the one most likely to make it at PL level, based on age and athleticism

Riis is the most likely to be a good value guaranteed contributor at championship level - and at the price mentioned I'd be disappointed to see him go elsewhere

Cannon is a bit of a combination, but too expensive

I'd still rather try for McBurnie, with Riis, Kone and others still available as alternatives late in the window. It's not a CF we need most to get through the next 3 games, it's a CM

He’s scoring.. and not much else, doesn’t link play, stretch defences, hasn’t got much pace, and doesn’t have much strength. Based on statistics alone, I’d be going for Kone.

I don't know how good he is that's not my point. My point is, we want him, Sunderland apparently want him and Stoke want to keep him. Wilder wants him, Mark Robins' for me a top championship manager, wants to keep him. Both far better judges of a footballer than me.7 million in the notoriously expensive January transfer window feels the right price for the player. Some fans on here seem to be living in the past when it comes to transfer fees, trust me its the wages that may be a bigger problem. Who was our last player to score 4 goals in a game? A genuine question actually |I cant remember Billy doing it.

Nic made a good point in shoutbox - if he’s as good as folk think.. why are Leicester happy to sell when there’s a good chance they’ll be in this league, with a 37 year old as their main striker?

Problem with Cannon is he scored 4 against Portsmouth... and 0 in the 8 games around Portsmouth.

There was an announcement this morning saying they are not facing any charges along with other clubs. Apparently none are near PSR
