I would like to see us bring in Cannon on a permanent deal. However, the price is too steep. They bought him for 6 million and he scored 3 goals in 16 apps for them last season, so definitely wasn't anything more than a bit part in their promotion season. For me 4 million seems about right.

That was my thoughts. His successful spell was over a short sample. We have signed players for alot of money with similar records. You would want the majority of that 7 mill to be performance related add ons.

Trying to get their money back on him I think.

I'm not sure how much you've seen of Campbell, but he isn't a like-for-like player at all - he's far more effective when playing wide than centrally. He's certainly not a focal that holds-up the ball.
He may well compliment Moore if they play together but a replacement he is not.
Think of Callum Robinson as a recent similar case.
Callum Robinson is a good comparison to Campbell, and they’ve had similar careers in the Championship up to this point. Campbell will be important for us, but getting Cannon in would be great for depth.

Not if they can’t sell him by Friday night. They will not want him sat on their wage bill if he does not make their 25 man Prem Squad.

Didn’t we make a profit on Traore?

£7m might be the fee, but doesn’t mean we pay that. Certainly not without hitting certain targets such as promotion, appearances and goals.

If we sell Anel, Souza or both I’d like to think this would t be out of reach for us.

I haven’t seen him play but 7 million doesn’t seem exorbitant and is only marginally more expensive that what we paid for Burrows which was meant to be 3 upfront and 3 in add ons you’d like to think a similarly structured deal wouldn’t be beyond us financially. Unless we’ve already earmarked the majority of our remaining budget to be spent elsewhere.

Leicester City are looking to SELL striker Tom Cannon - with Sheffield United and Stoke City trying to raise the cash

Foxes have decided to cash in on Cannon a year after signing him from Everton and they will seek a similar £7 million fee.

Blades are finalising a takeover and had hoped to land Cannon on loan for their promotion push but the are working on a loan to buy offer.

Stoke are also long term admirers of Cannon but may be reluctant to put the money down immediately for the forward.

Cannon is still in contract for four more years but wants to play and in waiting for the right offer to consider.

Tbh, at £7 million, if we paid something like £4/5 million with a further £2/3 million in potential add ons, I'd be happy with that.

Either that or we do go with a loan to buy.

Usual hide issue could be wages. He’s probably on a wedge following glory days

just wonder if anel goes that we may sign cannon on a permanent deal although doubt we will want to pay 7m loan with a view to buy for 5m would be more like it

With how in the shit we are with PSR we wouldn't be willing to make a loss on him if we sold him

We paid £7m and he would now have about £5.6 left on his value
