He’s Irish.Cannon appears to have all the attributes to be very good at this level. I appreciate many will compare him to Brewster based on what he's achieved so far but we can't base every future striker singing on this forever more.
If you watch his highlights for Preston and Leicester he looks quick and strong and has a very powerful shot. What more can we expect for £5m - £7m these days? Solanke has just gone to Spurs for £65m!
Personally think he'd be a great signing and if it pays off an English goalscorer could be worth a fortune in a couple of seasons. For every Brewster there's an Ivan Toney. Before Peterborough signed him he'd been out on multiple loans and hardly set the world alight.
Apart from we couldn’t of course.Should have just kept Lankshear… he looks better.
Do you not think if there was any chance of us keeping him we would have?Should have just kept Lankshear… he looks better.
I seem to recall we were after Toney but wouldn't meet Posh valuation - blimey did we miss out there !Cannon appears to have all the attributes to be very good at this level. Wilders sliding doors allegedlyDidn’t get Toney but got Brewster.
Bit of a sliding doors moment that one…
Ivan Toney has a mind of his own. I can well imagine Wilder opting for Brewster, and I don’t think it will have been purely on a football basis.Wilders sliding doors allegedly

They were likely other suitors for cannon before but just not mentioned. Saying that, maybe Sunderland after selling Clarke have more money nowSunderland look to have entered the race as well now

Who would you go for then? Not worth £7 million…. He’s not that good. He’s unproven to me 10 goals in 33 games is too short a period to be spending £7 million on. Mind you we did spend £23.5 million on a player who had only scored 10 goals in 20 games!!!!!
Spent that on Burrows, Cooper and Rak-SakyiWe should have considering money we've made from Jebbo and Osula sales
But he did play 33mins in 2 seasons! Not worth £7 million…. He’s not that good. He’s unproven to me 10 goals in 33 games is too short a period to be spending £7 million on. Mind you we did spend £23.5 million on a player who had only scored 10 goals in 20 games!!!!!
Its the main story on there? Although the source does quote Percy too: https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...ransfer-bid-while-defender-nears-exit-4756943(Still) No reference to Cannon on any ‘networks’ / sources / gossip / ITK / alehouse chat up here
All ‘evidence’ is they have other ‘targets.

Depends who we sell. This will be an auction I doubt we have the funds to be the top bidder within it.
What makes you think that? They are simply the first to have made a bid, as far as we know.i think hes destined for sunderland hope wilders got a plan b lined up
Or if we have new owners ?Depends who we sell.
