Pure guess, but maybe legals involved? He's happy but wants his legal fella to have a look? Fuck knows, I'm just guessing really :)
I'd guess they've agreed heads of terms, SUFC's legal are drafting the contract to be reviewed by his legal, then he'll sign it.

Bids in for Leonard and Holmes. There is a point where if they aren't done he'll move on. Plenty of interest in our listed players. Hasn't ever met Jagielka, and he's never been on Wilder's radar.

Quite a few times mentioned the fact he's working within a budget:
"Yer don't get medals for spunkin moneh. Our principles won't change."

He says that frequently. Well, he doesn't usually include "spunking" to be fair. Good job really.

I don't know how often and how clearly he has to emphasise that he's in charge of transfers and the level of offers made before it penetrates certain granite skulls on this forum who continuously distort the reality to suit their malicious agenda against the chairman.

He also mentioned the need for patience in relation to transfer deals. Again, that will somehow disappear from consciousness so far as Jimmy White's Deadline Day Army are concerned.

Good job some of us listen and are helpful enough to remind them.

The fact we've moved quickly in other areas ahead of other teams with our early business allows us to take time on other signings, and he's right to highlight that some of his best business came in August.

Obviously if Leonard hasn't signed by 6pm this evening we need to move on...

Nevermind Leonard & Holmes we need to get a few big pacey centre backs signed up as a priority after Wilder puts pen to paper.

Oh and Jags isn't one of them.

Not suggesting we sign Jags but I would say Jagielka can read the game better than anyone we could realistically bring in and therefore theoretically be faster so to say?

Could we discuss the Everton player on the thread devoted to him or, still better, on an Everton message board?

I love pigs, make my day they do, apparently money buys success, just not for them I take it :D

What they don't get is that there's a difference between spending money (Wednesday) and spending money well (proper football teams) haha

I could be biased but every time I hear a sSir Chris Wilder interview the hairs on the back of my neck stick up
He talks the talk and I'm sure he will walk the walk
I don't think for one min that we will get a auto spot
Play offs a dream but definitely will not go down but one things for sure with CW and his back room staff and the mentality of the squad we will surprise many in league 1
Plus with the backing of without doubt the best support dreams can come true (Wembley here we come )

Did anyone else notice the long pause when Wilder was asked if there had been contact with Sunderland? That tells me that their interest was definite, even if the interest was only a tentative enquiry. Pleased we have a bit more security now, as this probably won't be the only interest Tufty gets this season.

I notice that George Long's name is being dropped alongside the 3 on the transfer list. First time I've heard wilder hint that George is considering his future.
