I somehow think Wilder will know that he's not yet match fit. I don't know why it's just a hunch.
I would imagine Phillips will be eased in accordingly. But only if Wilder knows what he's doing.

Wether or not he knows if he is match fit doesn't change the fact that if he doesn't play for three games it will be pointless

We are 8 points off the play offs now, so if we are 20 points off in 3 games time then something really has gone wrong - even God is fucking us up by adjusting the laws of mathematics!

FWIW I'm in the camp of - yep bit of a strange 'left field' signing this given the circumstance, injury record and wages. However, I trust Wilder knows the situation better than I do so I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. Could be a waste of wages, could be an inspired signing that gets us over the line. Lets see.

I've been pondering this as well.
Right now, the only 100% match-fit midfielders are Peck and Soumare (though CW started Peck and Arblaster against Oxford).
You would assume that Rothwell and Phillips will be in the frame soon for minutes if not starts. Plus Jairo should be back in the near future.
Perm two from six (except that Soumare is probably 6th choice now).
Or is Rothwell also regarded as cover for Hamer and O’Hare??

I think we now have a squad that could push for the play offs, it's now down to wilders tactics and tantrums.

Other Wilder 'project' type players have worked way better than I would have expected.

Unless we can shell out £10-20M for the finished article we have to go down this route.

My guess is that we stick with Peck and Arblaster as the starting pair as long as Jairo is injured. Rothwell will be straight in the squad I think, along with Soumare on the bench, and we will use one of them to rest Blaster after 60 minutes. Phillips won't be in the squad for a little while.

So we've paid £300,000(ish) for a £40m international to help us in the run in.

Think that's ok.

Cannon at £10m fee and 20k per week works out at about £1m for a 3 month period (based on 3 year contract)

(I like cannon so I'm not using him based on ability just a financial position).
