Teams that get promoted don't rely on one player to create everything.
I saw the line up without Duffy and called it straight away, we'll do ok, we'll contribute to the game, Forest will know they've been in a game, but we won't create enough

If they don't address this problem in January they'll be mid table again

But you have to admit, this is a very, very even league this year and there isn't anything like a 'Fulham' (of last year), let alone a 'Wolves'.
I know it's very easy to over-react after losing but we just look like we have too many 'bad days' in us at the moment.

this^^ .. this season is different. the teams are much more evenly matched. the winning outfit will have a lose column of ten games. it is all over the place.

We won't get promoted for two reasons:

1. We don't have enough up-front. If Duffy's not playing then the strikers tend to struggle. We can control and dominate games but we don't create enough clear chances.We don't have a striker who can make something out of nothing.
2. We've got very little to come off the bench. No one to change games. Our first XI is strong but after that we struggle.

We need to bring in a couple of good quality attacking players in January.Freeman would be perfect and then a striker. It's a shame we couldn't get someone like Marriott. I can;t for one second see the board having the funds for us to do this though.

Today our play was sloppy and pedestrian against a poor side who got a lucky deflected goal!

heh.. no problem i'm trying not to get worked up. i've made a twat of myself before. hence trying to provide a bit of positivity
i'd have to disagree though . at least not in Sheffield it's quite aggressive i'd say. i'm up in Scotland and have got into the habit of saying pal where it has no aggressive undertone. our lass asked me to stop saying pal because it sounded like i was about to deck someone

The fact that we’re placing so much emphasis on next Friday is a good indicator that we’re not equipped enough to get promoted.

I wouldn’t imagine teams like Derby/West Brom/Norwich would be resting players ahead of their Derby game if their minds were set on promotion. Fact is come the end of the season 3 points in a game like today, against a team who are likely to be up there come the end of the season is far more definitive than 3 points next week in the grand scheme of things in the league.

The fact that I don’t particularly think we will last the pace this season anyway means I can quite understand why we have minds focussed on next Friday because we are capable of giving the pigs a MASSIVE pasting and I for one want us to give ourselves the best chance of that happening.

Having spent a lot of my working life in Notts/Derbys I'd have said that 'mate' was more something you'd hear down there. 'Pal' always seems more 'Yorkshire affinity' to me. All my 'sports-playing friends are 'pal's'. Quite a few of them are 'Leeds', though, so maybe it's more of a North Yorks thing?
I can see why it's seen as aggressive outside of Yorkshire, though.

They have virtually no goal threat and don't look anything like a top side.
We are overly reliant on playing our very best 11 and we don't perform with any changes to the formation or preferred personnel.
Any one of about 8 teams could win this division this season.

Forest Away was never going to be easy Irritating to lose that, they got deflected goal in tight game, luck happens bad & good all season. You cant talk about x amounts of losses because it could be unprecented lets say middlesborough & Leeds won then after 16 games you would have top 3 all on 30 & derby 2pts off the top but 5th. 12 months ago top 5 were separated by 9pts

always got to remember what we are up against & fantastic job he's doing. As the goal comes from deflected shot who cost £13.2m. I doubt our starting 11 & bench cost anywhere near that
