With vertical football, you clearly have to start at either the top of the table and vertically drop. Or like us, start at the bottom and vertically climb to the summit and the promised land of Premier League total football heaven. There is no in-between. Hold fast.

The most positive thing I can say is that these turgid performances happen before the window closes. There is still time to get the necessary players in. Imagine if we had won the first two and the next few and then started playing like this. We would have to wait til January and we'd be SWFC part 2.
Hopefully a huge wake up call to the owners, let's hope they are willing to pony up for this season to kick off. I'm not holding my breath ...

On the positive side, shouldn’t we be above them on ‘alphabetical order’?

Edit: I bet Staton has hacked into the BBC supercomputer!
yes he was at it again after 5 today bigging his beloved pigs up for getting beat today despite a'spirited' performance from the young lads this love in with wednesday and their wonderful wonderful fans is getting nauseating

So apart from the being from Sheffield, playing in stripes, unpopular owners, miserable fans, key players having left, a mix of under achieving and young players not quite ready yet, being winless and bottom of the league we have absolutely nothing in common with them, right?

Nothing like a couple of generalisations to enthuse us for the rest of the season. If we had a plan that was not working I would be more confident, but the idea that Selles is just giving different formulas 'a go' is frightening. Wow we need to get Hamer more involved, I never! So who is coming in when these 'few players who need a rest' after 3 games get rested? We are hardly bursting with quality with a full squad.

Out of curiosity were you one of the ones calling for Wilders head and saying he wasn't good enough after a poor start to life in league one (including losing by 3 at home)? One of the ones saying he isn't proven at the level? Fortunately he was given more than two league games to prove himself.

When I say finding the right formula, it isn't just a sweeping generalisation. It's that new managers do need time to get their ideas across and properly assess to understand what works best in competitive scenarios. That's fairly obvious.

No one is claiming the squad is right yet, or that we have the depth. Fortunately that's why we're still very much in the transfer window.
If the squad still looks like this when the window shuts, I'll join you in panicking. Until then I'll view this start with a little more optimism than yourself.
We have real quality in this squad, even the most pessimistic of fans would struggle to argue against that.

We seem to want to play a much more high risk high reward system. Admittedly it currently looks high risk low reward, but there's clearly some idea of what we want to achieve.

The 20 minutes in the first half against Bristol city was good.
It was very good, the movement of ball and players was excellent and we created numerous chances, but it seems, for whatever reason, that Bristol City's 2nd and 3rd just completely knocked the stuffing and belief out of them and it's yet to reappear

The first half of last week's game (yes it really is that long ago) was the most enjoyable 45 minutes of Blades football I'd seen in at least two years. Probably longer because I can't be bothered to go back that far to remember.

Unfortunately, the 2nd Bristol City goal has seemed to destroy confidence and it's totally different watching any side playing with confidence to one which isn't.

There has to be some patience when there's a change in approach. I was calling for the head of the coach of my Spanish team six games into last season. In the end they were promoted. The season is long and full of terrors.

Time for calm heads.
This week is crucial. Get at least 2 signings in. (I know...)
Back him with incomings or if we lose our next match then he will be under severe pressure.

Over to you COH.

Burton Albion could've/should've had two or three against us in the first half. Alarm bells should have rung.
So, we sell our best CH.
And no replacement in sight.
Is it the owners or Seles.
I suspect the former.

I would feel better if I could recognise a system, plus no one can possibly need resting after 3 games.

Good players do not suddenly become bad ones overnight, but badly coached they can look bad.

I hope RS manages to get going, but history is not on his side.
