I'll bet you £50 we will have signed a new player by the 5th June, which is the end of the first week. As I've said previously players contracts aren't up yet and unless you are going to pay their current deal off there won't be movement. Further to that bet I'll add that at least 4 more will be in before the end of June.

I'll be amazed if we buy more than 1 or 2.

Take a look around at the number of players being released. Our 9 isn't the biggest number by any means, so there is a massive pool of out-of-contract players to go fish in, so why buy?

Most contracts in football end in June, so all these released players are not technically available until then. No panic on the signings front just yet!

What point are you actually trying to make here ? Do you honestly believe the club are sat on their hands at the moment waiting for players' contracts to run out before making any phone calls ?

Last summer we brought in 7 permanent signings together with Kyle on a season long (cough). We only brought Treacy in on loan at that time until the Paddy situation was 'resolved' when we brought Bunn in. Another problem we had last Summer was that we still had the likes of Hendrie and Carney draining considerable resources.

Less may have renewed, we may have sold less than last year at this stage (not that any figures have been released to my knowledge since the forums) but the 'loss of thousands of season ticket holders' is far from being a fact not least of all because the 'purchase period' hasn't yet finished.
