Its funny you should say that. I went to the "clubhouse on Friday night to watch the Pigs game with another Blade so I could be with fellow Blades and when they scored half the pub if not more cheered! No way I'm going back there and they've removed the Blades memrobillia from what I saw. Did anyone else go there on Friday? Is it owned by Pig fans then? Change of owners?

I'm not going there again after Friday night full of Pig fans, no way. They can go anywhere else in Sheffield to watch it but oh no lets head down to London Road! Is the owner wanting for it not to be a Blades pub?
 
Just gone on Facebook to see the ClubHouse page and its got the Pigs badge on it! What the?! That's definitely the last time I go there!
 
Beer Engine, staff pleasant, beer good (given I'm a lager drinking softy).. Not a owl reference. Anywhere.

As an aside, spoke to a bird of prey expert at Kenilworth Castle once who told me that contrary to public perception, owls are amongst the thickest of birds. They sit about in the dark, feeding on weak prey. Typical.

If you run an establishment that close to the lane then its foolhardy to declare your support for those lot. Just because Wednesday are on the up at this moment in time (could still lose the play-offs anyway) then packing their place out with We're All Wankers attire will essentially screw themselves over as a business in the long run.

Most pubs in Sheffield get the idea, they show both clubs matches as and when they are on Sky snd leave it at that.
 
I don't go there, but if I did.. I wouldn't give a fuck who the owner supports. I go to a pub for beer, not to have a reach around with the Landlord.

He did it to me once, then a fortnight later I bought a pint of Carling, drank half of it, took it to the toilet, topped it up with piss and left it out for him, and watched him pick it up and walk off and he supped the lot.

Unfortunately mate , I can top that .
4 of us coming over on the ferry , 2 going to Burnley, 1 going to Manx land , we where the worse for wear before we got on the boat decided it would be a good idea to party on further , if ya catch my drift ,
Half way across to Liverpool and not being able to get to the jacks , we thought there's empty pint pots going to waste ,
Some of the crew came out and warned us about our , ahem , behaviour, by this stage we where bolloxed , and couldn't give a fuck , that's when the dares , started happening, I just ran around the bar area naked , thank fuck I didn't get the dare to neck the pints of piss , hence , the crew came out nicked , could they do that , the guy puking his ring up , fuck me that was a wild one .

Changed hands just under a year ago and is run by the same folk who also run The Cremorne.

Dunno who Adrian supports but he's definitely no pig. He's Canadian, so I dunno if he gives a shit about footy. Mate of mine said he mentioned summet about not wanting it to be known as a Blades pub, but I dunno how much there is in that.

If he doesn't want it to be known as a Blades pub then it's tough shit, really. It was before he got there and will be long after he goes.

God forbid he might take over a pub that's a stones throw from a football ground and that clubs fans might frequent it in droves on a match day. Can't have that sort of association.

He sounds like a class 1 bell end, and I sincerely hope it fails.

I'm a regular on match days and went in on Fri after being in town cos I didn't want to be amongst Pigs so was surprised and disappointed by the Pig element present. "Full of Pig fans" I think is maybe an exaggeration as I do think there was a bigger cheer when that goal was disallowed but still disappointing that there were any in.

I was shouting so loud when their goal was disallowed that I didn't hear anyone else cheering! I made a tit of myself on their second goal though! IO just got back from the loo and the goal went in and I cheered thinking it was Brighton, and quickly realised my error and stopped but I'm still feeling guilty now! ;-).

I'm amazed that the management that runs the place have the Wednesday badge on their facebook page! Talk about own goal! Not going there tomorrow night to watch the last match I would imagine they'll be even more Wednesday fans there based on the fact its the away leg. Off to the Barrel in the future, on match days.

Putting a Pigs badge on their facebook page will probably ensure its not a Blades pub any-more mate! Not for the foreseeable anyway. I get that the owners might think that the rough and tumble of football fans might not bring in other punters, other than match day but surely there's no need to go overboard and "sleep with the enemy"! Their choice of course, but crazy.
 
Always been the worst pub on London Rd ,Fridays was always Royal Oak , Lanny , Albion ,pheasant ,Barrel ,Old Crown ,Tramway ,Sheldon then Curry Centre ,Tiffanys (or whatever they called it that week) or Royal Oak for Ab.
Saturdays with the Mrs was Cremorne ,Sheldon ,Barrel ,Old Crown ,tramway ,Pheasant ,Albion ,Lanny ,Royal Oak ,Romantica Maharaja jalsa Jhar (with trevor peat and his orchestra (except sundays ))or Town.
Might go in for one now ,just the one.

Totally agree if a pub is run by a Wednesday fan or fan of any club I don't care. But I do expect the owners of a pub on London Road not to have a Wednesday page as their logo on their facebook page or be tweeting messages of congratulations on their official twitter account. Its just stupidity and I want to be on London Road to be around fellow Blades and if it has that badge as the official logo it's not a Blades pub to me! I'll not say any-more on it but you can tell I'm miffed!
