Pigs taking over a pub on London Rd is crazy. Wouldn't get Blades taking over Legends would you. Oh, wait.

As I said mate, I'm fine with Pig fans running the place but to put the Wednesday badge as their logo on the facebook page is just stupid and will alienate Blades fans. If you took over Legends then you'd have to respect that its a Wednesday pub and leave it at that. The Clubhouse is without any Blades photos, kits etc as it used to have so its clearly decided by the owners that they don't want it as Blades pub and therefore gone to full Hog (ha ha) and become a Wednesday pub. Never going there again.

Not advocating anything here, but isn't this all just the tiniest bit dangerous for the establishment?

In the same way that it would be if Legends (or whatever its called these days) were to decide a red & white refurbishment would be in order?

Definitely, will be really interesting to see if they change their tune. Its a brave and stupid move in my view. Definitely not going there tonight to watch the second leg and be surrounded by far too many Wednesday fans again! They could have gone anywhere else, but oh no lets head down London Road!

Agreed. I think losing many of its customers might be the least of its worries.

I'm inclined to plump for "stupid" rather than "brave", Booker.

Absolutely agree mate, some of our younger element have been smashing grounds up this season, so this could be a red rag to a bull and end up with aforementioned young element deciding to go in and "redecorate" the place.....

My first thought is that this wouldn't have happened in the eighties. It's hard to find things more stupid and provocative without thinking of Donald Trump or EDL.

It was an analogy, not a dog whistle for fascists to play the comparison game. I have no interest is discussing politics on here.
Neither have I. I just provided some balance to your list.- although I'm far more concerned about a bar on London Rd spouting pro-pig shite

"Good afternoon, I'm posting as the new owner of The Clubhouse. I've heard from many friends (and some not so friendly) over this morning. I now understand the upset & offense posting the SWFC badge has caused. This honestly was not my intention, I'm a fan of all sports and was simply enjoying an important victory by a local team. I love Sheffield and call this city home, the people are the main reason, and I think any of you who know me will attest to this. This was solely my doing, and I had no idea of the magnitude, I will copy the initial response I made this morning to personal messages received, prior to me understanding the scope. I will now delete previous posts and apologize again. I do regularly change our profile picture to a relevant sporting event, including the Leicester badge when they won the‪#‎BPL‬. There was no malicious intent what so ever in me doing this. I watched the match Friday night with personal friends that are both Owls & Blades with no issues, so it is my personal naivety that has lead to this mistake, I will learn from this and be more cautious in the future. Hoping for a great year next year, and forgiveness from those of you I have offended. Regards, Adrian."

Fair play and hope its forgotten because to be fair its a nicer pub than it was before and it appears to be an honest mistake. Its not a crime to have the Wednesday badge in support over the play offs but I do think its impossible to show support for both, so close to one ground.

Just seen the apology myself. Fair enough for me. Guess put it down to the owner being Canadian and not really getting it!

Contrary to what some have said on here (who have also said they've never been in), it's not a shithole now. The manager (not the owner) seems to be doing a good job she's great with the customers and doesn't take any shit if anything kicks off. They have decent ale now and are serving good (some local) food. The barstaff are great and seem to serve about 3 people at once at busy times. It's size alone makes it good for pre/post match.

I was very disappointed at the thought of having to boycott it! Felt like my bird had cheated on me for a bit there!

Don't really want yet another match day pub shutting down.

However the barmaid eye candy seems to have seriously deteriorated! :(
