We pay their wages. They dont pay ours.

I expect some token of gesture for the fans who've travelled all that way on Boxing Day and they've turned out that performance for them.

Spineless bunch of nobodies.

Edit: I don't care what time of the game me or any other fan chooses to leave. The reason for the second point is pretty much summed up by my first line.

They're following Wilders lead.
No worries, he'll be back front and centre and shoving the man of the match around when we win next
It's what he does

If you go home and away you'll know how expensive it is then. Football was taken away from the working man years ago. How many people on minimum wage do you think can afford to go or afford a season ticket? Pay on the day prices are even more preventative.
I agree football is expensive currently but then again I remember being aggrieved paying £35/36 at Leeds and Ipswich around the time of Blackwell and then Speed taking over.

Must be about 15 years ago.

Football is different across the board to my youth but if the majority of our fans home and away today aren't working class, I'd love to know what class you think they are.

Again, not wanting to get into an argument but I think your idea of working class and mine are miles apart.

I'd be genuinely surprised if they are based on my upbringing and the kind of money I've earned throughout my life. I also briefly lived in a council house.

I do agree though that there are some on here who despite their protestations are seemingly well away from appreciating what many live on.

In that case show your displeasure by boycotting the next game or writing to the club. Save yourself 75 minutes of anxiety on New Years day.

I do wonder what Wrexham did today that completely outfoxed us..?
First goal - own goal. If Bindon puts his foot through it instead attempting a fancy flick, it's a corner.
Second goal - their main aerial threat left alone to do as he pleases. Decent header.
Third goal - If McCallum heads it back from the same direction it came, instead of trying to be cute and half ducking under it to try and head it backwards, it's a corner.
Fourth goal - Tanganga napping but it was a good finish.
Fifth goal - Not a penalty. Hollywood Taffs player was already going down before the challenge. VAR would have overturned it.

Should have been a 3-2 win.

If only our manager had played in a team and culture that had a mantra of clap the fans no matter what.

Oh hang on he did. Ask Bob Booker.

The prolonged celebrations at the Sty and Leicester I had no problem eith either at all as it felt like we fostering a spirit.

All feels a bit empty and hollow when barely anyone can be arsed to give the tiniest acknowledgement to a sold out away following on Boxing Day.
As with everything Wilder, it’s only ever in promotion of his own ego.

Never once fronts up in front of the fans when he gets it wrong, even Selles managed to do that. Quite happy to roll in it when it’s going his way though.

For the benefit of those who weren't there or who left early, all the United players clapped the away fans as they walked off. Granted they didn't walk right over to the away end but it would be wrong to say there was no acknowledgement at all.
Both my lads have just got in and said the same. Faux outrage after a poor performance. Tomorrow's chip paper as they used to say.

I was waiting for someone who was actually there to confirm what happened. Thanks.

The different ages through decades have definitely defined “working class” back when the pits, mills, steel works and factories were king, there was a clear class system based on your job within that setup. Now due to the digital age, jobs that could have been seen as “working class” are well paid due to the skill set needed. Although we have the upper class, socially Britain has changed so much that working and middle classes don’t exist. A tradie can be on more money than a supermarket manager as an example. But if you are taking family to games, football is an expensive hobby

I do wonder what Wrexham did today that completely outfoxed us.. what was our game plan, what did the players discuss? What did they go over during the week?
They bullied us, in every single department. Even at 3-1 we were never in control of that game.

Perennial flat track bullies us. We can control a game when the other team doesnt want to try and battle for it. Never seen a United team raise the white flag as quickly as this at Championship level as soon as the opposition puts it on us.

That's shocking if true. Our travelling supporters giving up their Boxing Day deserve better than that.
They didn't give up anything. It's a choice. Why do you need to be clapped for attending a game of football? I would imagine in most modern football, the performance of the team exceeds the level of vocal support, comparatively. Would it then be acceptable for the team to boo the fans? Its just entitlement.

Doesn’t working class just mean “a bit geezer-y”?*

I’ve no idea how anyone works out the percentage of working class people attending a game or not unless you 1) base the categorisation purely on salary and 2) make assumptions about how much of that salary can be spent on football.

Didn't know till i heard it on sky comms that the team were training on xmas day, whilst Wrexam didn't, but it might explain the total lacklustre performance.
