Poor. Scrappy first half with both sides a little lethargic. We carried on and they woke up a little. They got some luck on the goal but it was terrible defending and they were always the more likely to score. Our midfield was terrible. While there was nothing upfront the 3 in the middle hardly tracked anyone and hardly broke forward.
Foderingham - 6.5 - No chance on the goal and little to do. Kept things fairly tidy Didn't have a great deal to do.
RND - 6 - Our best defender but not saying a lot really. Looked the more likely going forward but the final ball was generally poor. OK defensively but no one was any good second half.
Robinson - 4 - Gave the ball away poorly first half and you could see his frustration with no one making runs in front for him. Few more mistakes second half and got caught goal side twice in about 5 minutes when they should have scored.
Egan - 4.5 - Thought he looked all at sea at times. No fault on the goal but very slow to react defensively and you'd expect him to be the one keeping the shape at the back. Pushed forward and the game went on. At least showed some desire
Davies - 4 - Terrible for the goal and look awkward all game out of position. I think I'd rather see Gordon there. They got balls through us way too easily
Baldock -2- Shit. First game back so gets some leeway but constantly offside going forward. Then tried a dive. Crap on the goal and seemingly out of position most of the second half. They kept attacking down the left and no pressure at all put on the ball. Not only him.
Norwood - 3 - Gave the ball away a few times. Did very little. Looked like he'd been on a two-week bender
Fleck - 3 - Probably with Fleck who looked slow from the very start. So slow with and without the ball. Terrible set-pieces. Terrible.
Berge - 2 - There was a moment during the first half where he game away and as their midfielder attacked down our left he jogged back at a pace even I'd be embarrassed by. He can't play a deep role because he consistently shirks his defensive responsibilities. Baldock was crap but he was expected to charged down the right wing and charge back while Berge jogs around the middle. Slow on the ball as well. Slows us down. As did all our midfield. Always an extra tough or a turn inside.
MGW - 6.5 - Only players, along with RND, who looked likely to make something happen first half. Kept coming and offering for the ball, finding space and causing them issues. Seemed to hurt his back and came deeper and deeper second half a bit pointlessly.
Jebbison - 2.5 - Lad does not make run. FFS. he needed to keep making runs to offer us an out but he stands around. Sure, he got naff-all service but he is not putting the work in for the team.
Subs
Ndiaye - 4 - He has energy but does he have a footballing brain? He lost the ball several times because unlike MGW he doesn't know who is around him and tries his trickery in stupid positions. Sure, he added legs and someone to offer for the ball but lacks the intelligence with it. Needs to improve. I can see why, given his performances over the last month, why he doesn't start regularly.
Osborn - 5 - At least had a shot at the end but not sure if he knew where he was meant to be playing. Ran around everywhere.
Osula - 5.5 - The lad seems to be a better option than Jebbison for me. He at least knows how to play a forward role and gives us an outlet to get up field
Hecky - 4 - We have zero fit senior strikers and that has to be factored in. As does the fact that players have been away, so he's had little chance to work with Jebbison, MGW and Berge together. They all looked like strangers today. First half was scrappy but we were clearly losing the midfield second half and I'd have taken a defender off and put Osborn in there. Just for some energy and legs. In Hecky's defence I looked at the possible changes at half-time and I genuinely was struggling to see how he could have improved us going forward. Sure, you could push Berge up more but that would have left the Krankies on their own in the middle. Needs to sort something out for Tuesday. Maybe a 4-3-3.
Stoke - scrappy and lethargic first half. They looked a lot more up for it during the second but while their players clearly have skill they were often awful or half-arsed. No one particularly stood out for them, although Sawyers always scares me, but Tymon put some great balls in.
