Steve Nicol II

What a bell end. It’s not his backing of Klopp over Wilder which winds me up, because it’s hard to argue that Klopp shouldn’t be voted best manager. However it’s the way he totally dismisses Wilder in such a disrespectful and over the top way. His tone, aggression etc is ridiculous. The fat fucking pig.

Clearly he isn't a full shilling so why continue to embarrass ESPN by using him. Its true of many broadcasters thinking players who spent a career bashing their brain against a ball 20 years ago are good value to comment on the modern game. There are plenty of youtubers like Benjamin Bloom who give far more incisive, diplomatic and balanced comments from a fan's perspective.
On the other hand, more people have probably watched that clip than watched their actual programme.

I hope we batter liverpool in quarter finals o cup

Heard an interview with Bruce Grobelaar where he said Nicol was a complete space cadet and as thick as the shit of a pig fed solely on expanding foam.

I’ve heard that the reason nobody has seen Nicol between him finishing at the Wendy’s and now is because he got stuck in a revolving door.

it is highly embarrassing, he was probally saying that Leicester didn't deserve manager of the year in 15/16 because they had no pressure on them & man utd should be they won the fa cup & man utd winning trophies is the expectation in august. considering majoirty wouldve been delighted with 15th to be 5th is truly incredible, on the job swap, I think wilder would win the title for Liverpool with probally 90+pts & Klopp considering he took very average Liverpool team to the Europa league final on pure workrate. would probally have us top 10

but for me like they said on sunday supplement, there should be for the 1st time ever be joint winners, this isn't sitting on the fence because both managers are doing amazing things, when Guardiola was on for 100pts people thought it could never be matched & yet here is jurgen Klopp doing a near perfect season unbeaten & on for 113pts but realistically which is mad 110pts. then wilder is exceeding all expectations on weekly basis we were told we'd finish 20th & rival derby, we hoped for 16th & we are 5th. but this is a big but if wilder finishes top 7 & makes the fa cup final. I think you have to give it to wilder. unless Klopp repeats the feat of sir alex wins the treble

Interviewer: I suppose the most famous thing you ever did in your playing career was to miss from six inches against Uruguay in the 1986 World Cup.

Come back Steve I have other questions. What does "annihilated" mean.

Instead of making a point to disagree, he just throws his hands around and rocks back & forth. Clearly disagrees but doesn't have any charisma or knowledge to construct a decent argument.

If I was as shit at my job as Steve Nicol is in this clip, I'd retire.

He looks like your most hated uncle at a wedding. The one who’s recycled his dads suit because he is both too tight to buy one of his own and figures that for the once in a decade event that he needs one, it’ll do.

Agreed I was reading through this thread, checked to see if it had ever happened before then came across your post. Having looked at the list of previous recipients some have received it while pretty much achieving nothing (in relative terms)
Redknapp Spurs 09-10 4th
Pardew Palace 13-14 11th first season back in the Prem,
neither team won a trophy.

Strange reaction. He's a very embarrassed " expert"

Nicol is a full weight.

Would klopp have achieved what wilder has in 3 years...I highly doubt it, so nicols job swap point falls on its arse.

He says swap them round..

Wilder would definitely have Liverpool in a title race, probably not 6000 points clear like they are though.
Klopp definitely wouldn't have United in 5th with our squad of players

yeah this is certainly a strong year, because most years wilder & Klopp would have it sown up for both incredible perfromances, but weirdly as I said I think it will come down the cup competitions if 1 of us makes the final there aiming for us fa cup & them champions league. then that who will get it

It sort of annoys me that we're talking about this with twelve games to spare. Granted, as it stands, both Klopp and Wilder are the standout achievers but if we drop three places (which wouldn't take a terrible turn of results) and Liverpool keep doing what they're doing then it'll be Klopp without a doubt. On the other hand, if we were to nick Champions League football then that would be an achievement out of this world.

Ignoring that and going on the league right now, Liverpool have played 25 games, won 24 of them, and drawn 1. They aren't simply hitting the expectation of top two, or even of winning the league, or even looking like they've won the league by January, they're on the route to hitting a new points record and going undefeated. They're probably the best team in the world right now and might be the best Prem team ever.

But what irritates me about it is that Nicol apparently isn't capable of making that argument. He just has a strong feeling and is genuinely amazed by any disagreement. You're a fucking pundit. It's suppose to be your job to give some insight into the sport not just assert your ad hoc reckons.

What Wilder's doing is incredible. Nicol predicted we'd get slaughtered. You'd think anyone intelligent would say they got it wrong, why they got it wrong, and we'd at least see an interesting conversation. He's a moron.

Until he bought the [then] most expensive defender in the world and [then] most expensive goalkeeper in the world Klopp hadn't looked like winning the title with Liverpool. Don't get me wrong, he's a phenomenal manager but Van Dijk, in particular, was the catalyst for them starting to win things.

Both bought with the Coutinho money more or less.

Ah, the ex football 'ace' that is Steve Nicol now football pundit 'farce'

I used to think he was slating us for attention and to get a reaction but now I am absolutely 100% convinced that he is useless and doesn't know the slightest thing about the modern game.

He hadn't watched us prior to this season which is obvious but to not acknowledge your mistake and just carry on spouting pig swill is beyond comprehension. ESPN need to be looking at some new blood or even just someone that cares to research their 'specialist' area.

I think he will actually explode if we get into the CL this season.

I can honestly say that this man is the worse football pundit ever! and there are some terrible ones out there.

God I would love to wind this man up :p
