That's because it was reported as £10m* at the time, which is the fully loaded, Brazil caps won and staying up bonuses paid amount. Up front was about £7m and I doubt we've triggered many, if any bonuses.View attachment 214798
You have to base line from somewhere and not saying this is correct as its all supply and demand - says paid 12.5 m value 15m I think thats euros and albeit not huge a small profit
On some level I hear what you’re saying but I don’t think anyone in this thread has been comparing Souza with Alzate, or suggesting that they’d be happy to let Souza go because we’re getting Alzate. If one person has, I apologise, but it’s not been a narrative throughout. Your logic would make it nearly impossible to comment on anything like this because of all of the caveats. I would raise the negatives you mention about Souza because I think it’s a limiting factor in his valuation. I would be OK with Souza going based on him presumably wanting to leave and us presumably needing to raise fees to sign people. I am presuming if Souza goes he’ll be more than adequately replaced. Of course I wouldn’t be OK with him going if we replaced him with a shithead. Even with all of the negatives raised about Souza - he is often unfit, he didn’t look great in the Prem, he has a habit of going missing when the chips are down - I’d definitely sooner he stayed. But what kind of shitpost it would be if everything we said had to involve some kind of decision tree. This thread is comical.
People complain about going backwards, selling better players and replacing them with inferior.....
Then I see this post littered with :
Souza overrated, unfit, doesn't play enough, now 26, didn't make it in the prem (with one of the worst prem teams on record)....
Replace with
Alzate whos:
a) Older than Souza
b) inferior to Souza
c) Didn't make it in the Prem with a much better team
d) Has played considerably less football than souza over his career.
AyeWe just need to keep our squad together and NOT sell our best. Until the people who do this learn we will always be the losers...Currie, Jones, Birchenall, Ndiaye, etc, etc. We have a promotion squad, no doubt. We just need a few in to cover what we have and to make the team stronger, not a lot to ask for and not a great deal needs to be spent. We don't need AI to to this, my cat could!
AyeIf only Vini's second name was Bellingham....
AyeAm I correct in saying that Bettis is quoted that we paid £7m for him?
We can only sell for what people are prepared to pay, the current market value him at an apparent £13m, if others think he worth more they can easily do so, if not we have sold him for market value
Shroedingers Transfer Fee15% of fuck all then.
Seen a couple about this saying he is having a medical on Thursday. Feels more than just a rumour...
You guys have been around long enough. It’s a rumour until it’s confirmed as done and dusted. The Star seems to be pretty strong on this move though...
Is it my imagination, that many Championship clubs, are way ahead of us , signings wise. Rothwell gone now.
I know... but if I was a betting man (which I am not) I think a bet that he is going to Wolfsburg would make me some money. You guys have been around long enough. It’s a rumour until it’s confirmed as done and dusted.
Twas always such.
It’s easy this football business, keep the good players and sell the crap ones. All there is to it.
Permanent first team transfer this summer (bold indicates a fee). The biggest fee so far is Zeidane Inoussa moving from BK Häcken to Swansea for £5m; more than half the teams in the division either haven't made any signings or have just made one. We're not alone. Is it my imagination, that many Championship clubs, are way ahead of us , signings wise. Rothwell gone now.
Because we're planning on being more attacking and he's only got 2 years left on his contract.genuinely what’s the point in selling Souza? He’s good on the ball and good breaking up attacks. He has 2 years on his contract left as well. So why not keep him?!
Because he presumably still wants to leave? He wanted to leave last summer.genuinely what’s the point in selling Souza? He’s good on the ball and good breaking up attacks. He has 2 years on his contract left as well. So why not keep him?!
We are slow off the mark but then again we have a new manager. If we had a DoF it wouldn't really make a difference regarding the manager. Is it my imagination, that many Championship clubs, are way ahead of us , signings wise. Rothwell gone now.
Think it just feels that way because not many transfer rumours are leaking. Is it my imagination, that many Championship clubs, are way ahead of us , signings wise. Rothwell gone now.
It depends how long you want to be apart of it for, he clearly wasn't good enough last year fitting in as a collective team otherwise we would have been promoted and it's not like he only played a handful of games either.I know... but if I was a betting man (which I am not) I think a bet that he is going to Wolfsburg would make me some money.
I want him to stay, but he is too good for Championship football (not sure if he is good enough for PL...) and he has been quite public about his desire to play at a higher level.
