Souza was excellent against Leeds.
Our standout player.

I'd be absolutely gobsmacked if Coventry attained £15m+ for Rudoni.

Hamer, a much better player, was sold by them for £15m.
We still lost
Anyway I dont want to start slagging him off I had no issue with him as a player just retorting to some of the emotional clap trap around him but as I've said before I genuinely wouldn't care if any of them left ,I dont think they are that good and im sick of the weak mentality
Someone in souzas role should have been a leader and took games by the scruff of the neck but whenever the tide turned in games against us he disappeared up his own arse

Against Burnley, he went off injured at HT (home fixture).
I think he was pretty good at Turf Moor though.

He wasn't always good, but I don't remember many stinkers.
He was just far less effective after the second hamstring injury. When fully fit, he was brilliant.

Rudoni doesn't play DM, so not sure he'd be a suitable Souza replacement. He'd be an interesting Hamer or O'Hare replacement maybe.
Agree hes not a DM but his strength is box to box and pressing all the attributes the new manager is apparently looking for. Agree hes a potential replacement for Hamer. Naturally left footed and his return of 10 goals and 12 assists puts him up there as one of the best championship performers last season. Bar codes are sniffing around him so his valuation is increasing steadily.

I think he's out of any Championship club's range. Maybe Sunderland will look to him as a Jobe replacement?
Not one for us to worry ourselves with.

His best attributes are his physical strength and ability to outmuscle opposition and also as an extremely good ball-winner.

Also loved his interactions with the crowd and his team mates.

Ok he did have his limitations but I for one will be sad to see him leave.

If we need a DM in the Championship then we may as well pack up now. We need some physicality in midfield but it doesn’t have to be a Souza type player with hardly any contribution to making chances at the other end.

Norwood wasn’t a DM and we did more than ok with him, Norwood but bigger and faster would be ideal.

Selles likes his full backs high up the pitch. I think the idea will be having a DM who can tuck in to give Burrows / Seriki more freedom to advance. Leeds did similar last year, with Ampadu tucking in, giving Firpo and Bogle the freedom to push up.

Good point lets throw the baby out with the bathwater because of 20 minutes shall we
He was always going to go as we fucked up by not getting promoted. Anel, Hamer and potentially Peck could also leave as we will need the cash to rebuild again due to the choices made on the sidelines from the minute Campbell was taken off until the final whistle of that last game of the season.

From who? He was rumoured to be valued at £30m (no one would pay that for him) but I have no recollection of anyone offering that. Fulham reportedly offered half that.
Aye
Apparently he’s (@ least) as good as Bellingham according to some & therefore I’m struggling to comprehend why he’s not signing for Sun’lun.
Equivalent player (apparently) funded by (only) half the Bellingham fee = 15m ‘in pocket’ & no discernible impact on the team performance/ functionality (apart) from infinitely poorer goal scoring / assisting stats
Equally why did Dortmund spunk an additional £15m to sign a comparable (‘identical’?) player -
clearly they’ve never ‘played the market ‘afore
Bellingham (Iobe) is the new /,next Brewster - you heard it here first.

They've got him down as playing attacking midfield through the middle on 27 occasions last season, albeit he was a half winger/half central midfielder in Wilder's bizarre team selections.

For me he has the fitness and energy levels to play there as he went forward when we had the ball, and chased the ball and put in tackles when we didn't. He's also one of the few players who keeps the ball and drives with it instead of offloading it like a hot potato as soon as he got it. I personally think box to box central midfielder is made for him and that he will thrive under Selles, same with Davies if we can keep him fit. Selles likes players who retain the ball and use it sensibly, which both O'Hare and Davies do.
A box to box midfielder who is :-

1. Technically solid.
2. Slow as fuck.
3. Weak as piss.

Ideal 😂.

Don't mind Souza going if we aren't playing out and out DCM players. We do need a a ball winner with a more progressive mindset - someone that will pick it up deep and run at defences with an eye for a good pass and actually score goals.
Souza and Peck are not that player.

Also, I would like to see Hamer stay for another season in a central role, maybe even a Duffy role.

Can't wait to see the type and calibre of players we have lined up 😀

We just need to keep our squad together and NOT sell our best. Until the people who do this learn we will always be the losers...Currie, Jones, Birchenall, Ndiaye, etc, etc. We have a promotion squad, no doubt. We just need a few in to cover what we have and to make the team stronger, not a lot to ask for and not a great deal needs to be spent. We don't need AI to to this, my cat could!

Explain then big man
Did you expect we’d be able to keep Souza and Hamer this summer? We gambled last time with Berge and Ndiaye and got promoted with an embargo hanging over us.

I’d see this as a sale of someone we can replace (output wise) for more than we paid for him.

He’s proven he’s not very good in the PL and apart from overseas teams I can’t see him being in demand.

I'd have sold him.last summer, as he looked poor in a very poor side in the EPL.

He was excellent last season, not quite the same when he came back from injury, but still very good.

He's a player we should be hanging onto, not selling.

Need to keep pushing that fee up.

Even though it was only thrown in for fun, I hope we try to negotiate a swap for Vaclav Cerny.

Did really well at Rangers on loan last season, surplus to requirements at Wolfsburg and would be an excellent wide attacking option at this level.
Definitely worth exploring.

If not, I hope we can squeeze a little bit more out of them for Souza and hopefully have our replacement ready for when the sale goes through. The Prince was pretty good at that in fairness to him.
