I think Vinny as good as MIGHT be in the championship is replaceable. Hamer as a comparison isn't.

I can imagine Vinny wants to go but credit to him probably will be ok staying and doesn't appear to have kicked up a stink. If he goes id sign someone big, hard and athletic. Maybe Shackleton could do the job, but he is small I know. A PL loan might be the answer.

It's gonna be a mental week that will decide how we'll do this season. Arguably the biggest for many years.

I’d be happy with anything over £10m tbh. Darren (El Accounto) has said a few times that Fulham were never in for him.

As others have said, he’s great at tackling (if he’s up for it and can get close to the opposition) but there’s more to being a holding midfielder in his role than he offers (positionally blocking passing lines, composed passing, organising others etc) which was exposed by QPR when they had so much room in the middle.

I’ve banged on about him all summer but I’d bite your hand off to get Stuart Armstrong in his position instead.
Why would you want to make a loss on him?? We aren’t desperate to sell so why not hold out for some profit?

If you could get rid of him and get a chong or a choudry on a permanent then that's good business in my opinion.

Yeah I think there is better out there that we could possibly get for the fee reported. Obviously a risk leaving it this late but if I'm still not sold on him despite his encouraging start to the season.

Fenderbahce are getting the best part of 30m from Brighton for their left back so I’d expect if they are interested then they’ve picked the wrong time to low ball us.

We should be aiming for 15-20m within the current market and based on the timing.

We’d be about at break even with that fee. And if someone offered me that at the end of last season then I’d have been more than happy. A few pre-season games and a decent performance against Preston doesn’t change enough for me, I think he’s easily replaceable.

He only cost about 5 m
It was widely reported at time although I think he has a big sell on 40% I believe to citeh group

There’s all kinds of fees that got reported from 5-10m so no one really knows. Still think €12.5m would be decent.

Him being replaceable isn’t the issue- if you look at the going rate for players at the present time, I just don’t see why we’d take a low fee just to get him off the books. Makes no business sense at all.

Why should we expect to make a profit on him, honestly?

He has all the physical attributes to be an effective DM at the highest level.

He showed, albeit very fleetingly, there's good potential there.
He's had interest from Fulham and others, his defensive stats were decent and he's only just turned 25.

He could be a difference maker for us at Championship level and CityGroup reportedly have a 40% sell-on.
All of this should drive a decent fee.

For me we keep him looked ok so far this season . As for him going missing the second half against Qpr the whole team did

Because in my opinion he’s not very good so I’d rather take a decent fee now than a potential smaller one in the future.

Turkish twitter saying the deal is off now anyway, supposedly due to our new owners not willing to sell him.

Mentioned this in shoutbox, new owners will have their own ideas of who should be sold, not sure money to stay afloat is desperately needed anymore.

To be an effective DM at the highest level you need to be mobile. He is not mobile, let alone quick

We'll see just how good he is if we end up keeping him. I wonder what the excuses will be. They'll make the ones used for Berge look solid

Berge the established premier league midfielder ?

Des Taylor has had a lot of influence with recruitment I presume ? , the normal window under pa would have seen a lot more players sold ( not for cheap! That's the one thing he's always dug his heels in with)
My one thought though is, is CW on shaky ground ? will des Taylor having given them his thoughts on the coaching team and a recommendation to replace them ?
