Range Rover of course. My name is Stacey. I wear a lot of make up. I don't need it and can barely drive it. A little Audi hatchback would suit me far better and cost me far less
Sorry, just sold both of mine. Lovely car horrible to own

Souza won't increase his value from the sort of 10m+ figures we're looking at now even with decent performances in the championship. He'll also have 6-12 months less on his contract whenever we come to sell him

His wages may not be crippling but you have to look if they could be put to better use and I'm pretty certain they could be

Disagree, he could easily go up in value. He signed a 4 year contract so has 3 left. A solid 6/12 months in the championship could see him go for 15/20 comfortably.

We reportedly knocked back £15m from Fulham. Why now accept £10 or less?

The sale of Anel means the opposite of selling him for a cut price deal. It means we can hold out for the money we want / need to upgrade if we should wish to sell him.

Fener and Turkish teams in general don’t have the same financial clout, they’ve broken the 10m Euro only 4 times in their history. They’d probably want him for 6/8 which would be stupid to even consider

Souza has shown he’s more than capable in this division as stated if he hadn’t have got his yellow card again qpr then he would have been able to hammer their midfield 2nd half and that’s where we lost it. Personally unless he wants to go or for reasons unbeknown I’d keep him as long as I could.

Its being reported they are selling someone to Brighton for £35m. If that's the case tell them the proper asking price for Souza and let them pay it.

I don't believe we rejected 15m or even 10m from Fulham. The lack of strong interest and the fact he's still here speaks volumes and reflects last season

If he's anything less than very good at championship level then we can forget receiving any fee in the region of what we're currently looking at

Anel's sale would mean less pressure to sell - if we wanted to keep him. I think we'd prefer to sell and replace. In which case there's less pressure to squeeze a massive fee because we've made plenty in sales already. If we take the 'less pressure to sell' point of view and are indifferent/happy to keep him then it could lead to no sale and cost us 10m+ because as I say if he's poor this season, forget the possibility of having access to the sort of money for him we currently do

One of the things the Prince has done has got us good deals for sold players and run us as a business….. he doesn’t give them away at the first offer that’s come along , for me one thing it highlights is that once a player has premier league experience next to his name the generally attract ridiculous bids ….. osula , bogle anel and Souza for just shy of £50m is really good business

Would cash in at £15m but we need one hell of a DMC in his place; athletic, good in the tackle and solid on the ball. Is that achievable in a week (?) left of the transfer window?

Is that what he is? Good in the first tackle sure, but very little else.

Of course he looks slightly better than last season already because of the competition level, but I’m not convinced he’s this cheat code everyone talks about because he’s won a few tackles.

Disappeared second half v QPR.

Some good points.

I do agree with Old Programme seller that against QPR, he changed as soon as he got booked in the first half and in my opinion, became a passenger.

I've also mentioned in a different chat, that on a couple of occasions v QPR, Wilder called him across to talk to him and Wilder was met with the good old arm waving.
Obviously i dont know what was being discussed, but Souzas reaction didnt look great.

1 good game and 1 not as good in the Championship.
Its difficult to say what kind of season he will have, but for me, if he does go for good money and we get a more consistent replacement in, he can go for me (fully aware what i have said is total fairy land re best case scenario and its just not the 'Blades Way').

That’s more what we need. I think Souza at this level ticks a lot of boxes but he has his limitations. But we’ll need a defensive midfielder if he goes who can do a huge amount of work given the attacking nature and lack of physicality around him.

I just don’t understand the let’s sell him a bit cheaper now we’re getting good money for Anel stance.

Just seems negative and defeatist to me. Just because we seem to be getting good money for Anel doesn’t mean we should rush out and sell someone else for less than asking price as it balances out overall. We should be then using that as a position of strength and saying … right we’re not desperate for the cash now it’s up to you to make an offer we cannot refuse. The club should be looking to come out with as much cash as possible from any deals so we can re invest and strengthen the team to push forwards. Why should we subsidise another clubs spending just because we’ve done ok out of another deal. Fuck everyone else. United need to generate funds to improve and not stand still.

Regardless of who the player is or what we think of them we shouldn’t be bending over backwards to sell players for less than asking. It shouldn’t matter what we got for Anel or anyone else in relation to another players asking price unless absolutely broke and desperate

I’d be happy with anything over £10m tbh. Darren (El Accounto) has said a few times that Fulham were never in for him.

As others have said, he’s great at tackling (if he’s up for it and can get close to the opposition) but there’s more to being a holding midfielder in his role than he offers (positionally blocking passing lines, composed passing, organising others etc) which was exposed by QPR when they had so much room in the middle.

I’ve banged on about him all summer but I’d bite your hand off to get Stuart Armstrong in his position instead.

Stuart Armstrong is not a defensive midfielder. He’s a good player if now knocking on a bit but he is a totally different type of player

No but he’s a good midfielder. Norwood wasn’t really a defensive midfielder but he played the role perfectly for years (including best tackling stats in the championship at one point etc). Look at most good teams and they probably don’t have a “defensive” midfielder. I just don’t think Souza offers anything beyond being very good at tackling.

He's never been anything but a limitation to our fluidity and has never threatened to establish a partnership with anybody

If we end up keeping him (possibly due to being greedy/unrealistic), we'll be forced to play him constantly due to his wages and to maintain his value, and that'll be to our detriment IMO. One reasonable game against a shite Preston changes nothing for me. A balance of his Preston/QPR performances is roughly what I expect from him at this level

I think I’d argue the opposite that most really good / successful teams have an exceptional defensive midfielder. In fact I’m struggling to think of a team who’s won a major trophy without one

Busquets, Rodri, Kante, Fabinho etc

I’m not in anyway comparing Souza to any of the above, but I think it’s an essential position in modern football and don’t think Stuart Armstrong would be a wise replacement for Souza.

If we played a flat 3 in midfield with Hamer and Armstrong either side of a defensive midfielder that could work but replacing Souza with Armstrong would get walked through imo

Souza seems the type to spit the dummy out and try to force a move. Anel too.

Will be interesting to see if either are involved tomorrow. I suspect at least one of them won't be.

Should that be the case, they're gone and we have to negotiate fast to give ourselves time to move in the window.

But those players are/were also exceptional all round midfielders, they obviously could do more than just tackle.

I wouldn’t describe Arblaster as a particularly defensive midfielder, just a good all rounder, and think another one similar but with some more experience would help us more than someone that puts a good tackle in every now and then - especially in this league.

It’s funny how we’ve being crying out for more midfield combinations and depth and now we seem to be over run by them (in a United kind of way)

I think he has looked ‘ok’ so far the first two games and if he stays will probably continue to be just that. Ok. Look amazing against the shit teams and disappear against the best.

If we sell him for a decent amount and (this is the crux) we can invest the majority in a replacement then I would be in favour. If we get £15 mill for him then 10-12 should get us a solid ball winner in the middle of the park.

That said, we have been crying out for one of those for fucking years so who who am I kidding.

Good attributes spoiled by a bad attitude.
Keeping him is a risk.
I will never forget some of his worst examples of downing tools last season.
One of the worst was him making a mistake , losing possession , setting up our opponents into an attack (all forgivable) ....
And then throwing his arms in the air , making no attempt to chase back , whilst watching all his teammates busting a gut to get back and clear the danger.
Can't understand how such a mentality would suit Wilder or the dressing room.
But if he goes , I hope we've got a replacement with all his attributes AND a good attitude.
