I thought Beattie one of his best games for us, although he didn't score, was looking for the ball had a few half chances. probably because it was southampton though

Beattie was shit yesterday, his passing was awful, as was his shooting. However, I don't know how he didn't get that free kick on edge of box.

Geary played well, but can't really think of anyone else.

Cahill looked alright i thought. Did a couple of goal line clearances.

Monty was dire again. How he gets a game is beyond me. I thought Gillespie was poor also, even though he scored. He is still struggling to cross in a good ball.

2points above the relegation spots......terrible

I thought Stead and Squinny were good, as well as Geary. I'd have changed Beattie for Shelton myself, but Robbo wasn't going to drop the big signing, was he.

Naysmith was particularly bollocks, I thought.

I thought Geary and Cahill played pretty well. The midfield was non-existent, in particular Gillespie didn't cross the ball well and the corners he took were consistently poor, Monty didn't look fit and didn't have a clue, Squinny looked lost at times and when Tongue came on he didn't look interested. Paddy needs some decent competition for his place because he is being sloppy at the moment but I'm not sure about replacing him with Bennett.

pigs 2 points behind us?

ill echo most comments and say we were shit.

also, can we have someone to teach the team how to tackle? most are scared and tonge ither fouls or just bounces off them.

Only a select few will put boot in whole hearted.

And to make matters worse, we have conceded the same amount of goals as they have making us the second worst defence in the league going by number of goals conceded. Southampton have only conceded 2 more.

Stead, Cahill and Geary were probably our best players but they weren't anything special. We just don't look like a team at the moment and some of the play on Saturday was plain embarassing.
Cahill definitely looks like a quality addition but I'm not sure he's the right partner for Morgan.

Perhaps it should be Morgan making way then for Lucky? Just a possibility....

Marvellous. That means we've lost to the leakiest side in the division.

Players aren't performing for us at the minute and it's really starting to piss me off, because it's our experienced players at this level that are being complacent and costing us goals.

Kenny - Hasn't been good enough for a couple of years now, he's not commanding enough in the box and never has been.

Morgan - What's he playing at this season? The captain is supposed to lead by example, and all he's doing is giving stupid fouls away and not winning enough headers.

Gillespie - He scored, but that's all he's done all season. He doesn't beat his man, his cross is hitting the first man more and more, why is he in the side?

Montgomery - He's not doing the thing he's known for, winning tackles. He used to win tackles and then leave the football part to someone else, and now he's not even getting stuck in anymore.

Tonge - He didn't start on Saturday but when he has he just doesn't look interested. He doesn't advance with the ball, he just stands there and plays a pass. I miss the days when he played out on the left.

The squad needs a kick up the arse in my opinion, I don't know if it's down to the manager or not, but if a professional footballer can't get the basics right then there's something wrong.

I'd have a major shake up on Tuesday. Get Alan Quinn in the side, get Lucketti in for Morgan, maybe get Bennett in for Kenny and also possibly give someone like Ashmore a chance, although it might not be worth the risk with him because if there's a mis-control on Tuesday there will be booing.

I didn't boo, and never will boo, but to be honest it was the first time I haven't clapped the team off in a while. I normally clap the team off regardless but I was really pissed off after that on Saturday, the only people that deserved a clap in my opinion were Cahill (who is an outstanding player), Geary, and Stead. The rest I'm afraid, weren't good enough.

i couldn't agree more Daz, for a squad that has mainly stayed together from last season you would expect them to perform.

I agree with giving the young guns a go too, i'd love to see Nicky Law in there, he passes well and a young un is bound to play with a bit of passion.

As for the fans they a kick up the arse too, after a summer of unrest outside the squad you would expect support. Yes they had a right to be upset saturday, i was, who wasn't really, but chanting for the managers name to be out, that really is the worst thing to do.

Roll on Tuesday and the abuse if we lose.

" Kenny - Hasn't been good enough for a couple of years now, he's not commanding enough in the box and never has been. "

maybe its the coaching??

and when tonge does pass its sideways or backwards, no real defence splitting balls.

I dont buy that either about which division we were going to be in in at the start of the season. We all knew it would be the championship we would be in. Load of bollocks.
