South Stand Queue

I didn't have any issues last night. Only queue was at half time, our lass was in one toilet and my lad was in the other, the walk back downstairs was quick enough to hear Roy Keane.

The delay wasn't to do with printed tickets etc. When you got to the turnstile people were getting through fast.
We were queuing other end, from Shoreham street, took 20 minutes, but people joining randomly who had walk from Bramall Lane end down cherry Street.
Maybe 6-8 turnstiles is enough normally for south stand if the old folk normally turn up 2 hours before kickoff?

As an aside I see the ticket Gestapo that people in the Kop have been complaining about ended up in the exit to H at half time, seemingly for no reason whatsoever
To be fair, loads of fans were stood in the aisle on H. I just walked past the stewards without showing my ticket, as it would have been another start to a half I’d have missed otherwise.

I got to my seat about 18 minutes in. I thought the people queuing on Cherry Street were good spirited considering. The mood might have changed had their been an early goal though. Think I'm gonna get there at 6am for the Spurs game.

That was fkg farcical last night , 6 fkg turnstiles at Lane end for the SS , missed first 15 mins of game & get inside to see the half filled kop .. we’ve gotta stop putting the red carpet out for away teams

Needs a complaint to club. Loads were there well in good time and missed the kick off.

Need to sort ticketing out for spurs. Give season ticket holders first dibs for their seats and load their usual card. None of this no reserving seats nonsense.
Nobody had a clue where their seats were, it was like the first time anybody had been to a game

No problem at all on John Street. Queue moved quickly.
No problem here either. Pulled up on drive at quarter to 9, in within a minute. Kettle on, Sky box on, fast forward past all the pre-match Hollywood worship, in my seat with a mug of tea and an iced bakewell in time for KO at 2101. Come on you red and white wizaaaards.

Which was nice.

Steward told me the scanners weren't recognising tickets. They should have opened a gate and checked them in by hand.
A few years back when my son was about six, he got in but the turnstile wouldn’t recognise mine. The steward thought i was trying to pull off some type of con, whilst the stewards on the other side let my lad wander off unattended.

The queue temporarily got excited because they did open a gate, but that was to allow half the stewards to run off inside and avoid doing anything about the crowd of irate people outside.

No one was taking control. No one wanted to take any responsibility. They needed a couple of stewards with handheld scanners and a couple of Police to ensure no crushing and to start getting people in through the gates.

Old fellow in front of me struggled gave up.in the end. Or codes on phones were a problem apparently if the size was wrong theydidnt work older man in front of me had the code the full size of his phone screen. I printed off my ticket and it worked fine I'm 61 by the way and very rarely use my phone for this kind of thing. I would bet serious money that most of the problems were old buggers like me. Not to be ageist but I'm old and learning new shit is harder.

Do we have to let other clubs have the upper and lower tier in the FA Cup? Season ticket holders in the BL Corner have no choice but to move seats and look at our seats lying empty, so not sure giving season ticket holders pre-sale chance to book their seats really works. I guess you could say it reduces the numbers being confused looking for their seat and gets people through the turnstile in their normal way using the card.

For what it's worth I printed ours for this and Forest and didn't have any issues- I don't trust the QR codes on my phone to be reliable.

We have to let them have a higher percentage than we do in the League, and that setup is the only one which really makes sense

I experienced this earlier in the season when scanners were being slow at a Chester game

The solution? They opened a door for fans with pre printed tickets and scanned them once fans were inside watching the match

I don't think anyone who had a problem with their ticket has reported it on here. Was the problem poorly printed tickets or scanners not working properly? Anyone with a printer must have printed documents when the ink was running low and thought it's readable to the eye but readable to a scanner must be a different matter.
From my observation the scanning did take marginally longer than it takes with a season ticket - with a season ticket there's hardly any need to stop before going through the turnstile and if everyone's printed ticket had been perfect I think entering the ground would have been marginally delayed - the time would all add up with the volume of people involved

Never understood why they allow print at home tickets, not everyone is using decent ink or paper, and if the settings of your printer are set for a lower quality that could cause issues too. When you print at home gig tickets often they are scanned by a hand held device and often have more than one barcode to choose from too.

There is a rule in the Cup that we have to give a certain amount of tickets to away fans. Unfortunately for us, this means that we have to give both tiers to the away fans due to our capacity.

Be interesting to know whether we could split the upper between home and away fans but then again that sounds too much like hard work for SYP.
