I’m looking forward to the lazy journalist stereotypes, pundits that’s never seen us play

When Wilder was manager it was “you can be sure Wilders team will out work the opposition”
“They such a honest group of players who need to be so organised“ and my favourite
‘They have so many big and strong players their best threat is via set pieces.....corners and freekicks is their best weapon”

I’m thinking Man City are probably the hardest workers and most organised team in the PL but no pundit ever says it.
Have they seen our players..we are such a small team...Norwood, Fleck and Osborn are lightweight small players in midfield.

With Jokanovic....it will be the opposite.
Comments like “we all know Joksnovic‘s teams like to get the ball down and play good football”
”but it will be up to xxxxxx to stop Sheff United playing their fluent passing game”

He’ll get credit for now but if we are mid table next season...the hate for PA will return.
You can bet some will even say “we should have appointed Higginbottam as he knows the club...terrible decision to choose SJ”

However at this moment in time the best out there are Jokanovic and Eddie Howe...so you can’t criticise the ambition.
Who’s Higginbottom??

Dont think this bloke will piss about.
His departure players will know within a week, and new acquisitions will have already been thrashed out before the pen put his moniker on the contract.
Hes not here to be fucked around with signings based on his track record, and surely had the promise based on his 3 year contract.
I'm over the moon with this ,and an astute capture to get him on English soil when he could have easily kept himself in the sun on the vodka in the middle east.
Excellent and exciting time to be a blade.
Well done the chairman 👏👏👏

Going to be a massive wake up call for a few that have got a little 'comfortable'

I think he will. The issue with the fans will be when he looks to replace it rather just drop Dids, as I don’t see where he will fit and he’s at the wrong age where you build around him.
Hope not but I reckon that’s where the honeymoon could hit its first bump with the fans. I hope he plays a slightly different front 3 which allows the forwards to drop deep similarly to the way he let his midfield interchange. Without that Dids just doesn’t work in the system.
I disagree, pal.
Didsy has shown over the last three seasons just what a talented player he is. Granted, his finishing is not there at Premier League level but the rest of his game is fantastic. He's by far our best performer (IMO) in terms of work-rate, retaining possession, and passing. You just don't turn into a player 'that doesn't fit' overnight. Our new manager is well known for playing with a front three but very few teams can afford to actually have three genuine number 9's. I think he'll be perfect in the 'Duffy role', picking the ball up and having free reign to dictate play in the final third. The concern for me is who plays up there with him? Brewster, I hopw will come good with a couple of early goals. Jebbo looks promising but it's a big ask with the pressure of winning that will follow us next season. McBurney 🤣 🤣 🤣 , two hopes, and one of them is 'Bob'!
Let's remember, this is the Championship, and Didsy isn't up against Premier League defences and the pace that comes with the league. I think he'll be our best player....again!

Brewster needs time playing with Didzy. His snake hips are a bit unpredictable and I think the younger lads struggle to time their runs or find a decent bit space while didzy shimmys round the 18 yard line, which usually leads to him having a pop rather than playing it to someone.

If you look how SJ plays his forwards there’s no role which Dids falls into naturally. He doesn’t want forward to come deep because that’s where the attacking midfield is and they’ll take their space. Of course SJ could change his side to fit in Dids but I just don’t see it.

Thanks Prince Abdullah and the Board. This shows real ambition. Hard as nails manager, good style of football, won promotion twice. I may be going overboard but I think this is one of the best appointments we’ve ever made as Manager, I rate him that highly. Let’s give him the funds to get the job done, get rid of the deadwood and let’s get playing attacking exciting football again. Can’t fucking wait!!!!!!!
"Let’s give him the funds to get the job done"... I think you've highlighted the flaw already.

I'm happy to admit I haven't studied his teams and how they play. Obviously I saw the full effect of his influence at Fulham when they gubbed us, but I'd be amazed if he played with a genuine 'front 3' unless at least one of them is specialist wide player. If that's the case then he's got some real recruiting to do because, as we know, wingers are like hens teeth at BDTBL!
I know what you're saying but we are both speculating, aren't we? I just fail to see how any manager would come in fail to be impressed with DM. He's adaptable and would be amazing playing alongside a powerful, talented, and experienced goal scorer. Unless we recruit a couple of fantastic attacking players, I think Dids will be a 'shoe-in'.
Exciting times!

Apologies. St Albans is not my favourite place.
If I were not optimistic at the start of each season and each match I personally would not be a supporter.
Keep the faith. I was present at too many relegations to keep count and am still addicted :)

@Cambridge (League 1 for the first ever time) was probably the worst as it all but mathematically relegated us, we had to win our final game and the teams around us with up to 4 games in hand on us had to lose everything. We drew the last game at home to Leicester and we were down before anyone else played! Beating Cambridge away and Leicester at home would have definitely saved us.

Couple of ex players have said he’s firm but fair, but you wouldn’t want to cross him.
He’s got an obsession with retaining the ball, and if you lose it you get the fucker back.
This is as good as it gets in our position, coupled with the news that he got assurances regarding transfers before signing.
A packed Bramall lane with this guy is gonna be something else🔴⚪⚔️

I think this is a terrific appointment for us, the best we could hope for and far better than I feared. It has totally transformed my mood over the club & the direction we were going in, I now have real hope we are going to turn the recent trend on it's head & come roaring back & regain our pride & identity.

"he got assurances regarding transfers before signing"

"No, the Prince said he's got a Czech book"

Slaviša simply misunderstood him. ;)

I used to use the managers last name and the year they joined as a work password. Heckingbottom was a tough one but this is going to be a nightmare when I log in every morning.

I get the impression our departure players might disappear in mysterious circumstances. 😄
