League 1 is said to be the most physical league in England. So that means we have one striker who will fit in - Darius Henderson. But a team like Sheffield United needs two strikers, and as far as I know we have no other physical strikers apart from Henderson.
So what Micky Adams should do is sell Evans and Boggy (but keep Cresswell, who I think would do great as a centre, attacking midfielder behind our two strikers). Obviously I think we should keep Slew but I think he will strugle a bit in League 1.
I think the person who should play up front with Henderson is Marcus Bent. I know nearly everyone will disagree with that and say how poor he is, but Bent is the sort of player who will also fit in perfectly in League 1 (just look at his premiership expierience).
Most Blades have said he's done terrible for us while on loan. But has he really been given a chance.
I'm pretty sure we won't sign him back anyway so I think Micky needs to adapt Slews style of play a bit so he's more confident in the air and can hold the ball up better. Hopefully this will work and get us right back up to the Championship.

What is it with you and Marcus Bent? Are you his agent?

I disagree with signing Bent, I think that he would want a decent wage and to be honest I think he would imagine him self being too good for League 1 which he clearly isn't. If like you say League 1 is the most physical league in England and we need 2 strong strikers I think we need to look further than Marcus Bent. He seems to have lost the one thing he had going for him which was his pace. One thing that does impress me with Bent is his ability to win the ball in the air. As much as I would like to see Henderson pulling on the number 7 jersey at the start of next season I just cannot see it. Too many teams IMO will be sniffing around.

From what I have read this Porter who we have been linked with is a big target man so he would probably fill Hendo's boots. If it is physical which I cannot comment on as I haven't seen too much football in the lower leagues then surely the defenders will be strong and looking for a battle. Surely playing big lads plays in to their hands, I reckon one physical striker yes, but not two we need to get the ball down and play our way to the title which means having a fast striker who can run in behind. Brighton & Southampton are both known for playing football this season and not just lumping it up for the physical battle.

Marcus Bent..dogshit. Evans will be sold anyway. Boggy not good enough IMO. Hendo and Craig Davies maybe?? A lot of sorting to be done over summer, so, much speculation ahead yet me thinks! Who know's who'll still be here.

Why do fans of other teams (usually Pigs) come on here pretending to be Blades? Very, very sad.

I'm really looking forward to next season.

If we signed Marcus bent i wouldn't be.

You do have a point there about not needing two physical strikers. But doesn't that mean Bent would fit in with Henderson (as Bent's game can be phsyical but normally evolves around other apects of his skill)? It's clear he still has a bit of pace left in him, although as you said he has lost a bit of it.
I'll try and make it as clear as possible about why I rate Marcus Bent.
Firstly, I think his attitude is fantastic and he is a great person for the likes of Jordan Slew too look up to. A good example would be against Middlebrough (when he came on and set Henderson up with a sitter). You could see Bent was extremely eager to get on the pitch as he was constantly running down the touch line warming up.
Then there's his CV (which will include many Premiership names such as Everton, Birmingham etc). To me it is very impressive and you can't deny that he has a very good goal scoring record. In my opinion Bent should really be at a club like Blackburn as he would play well in a bottom-side team from the Premierleague.
And finnaly, there's Bent's amazing overall play. Like you said he's good in the air and has a very composured style to his play. Unlike Evans and Bogy you can tell Marcus actually wants the ball at his feet.
Imagine we signed him in the summer before this season began. Then he starts everygame up front with Henderson. I can GUARANTEE you now that Bent would have finshed from 12-16 goals.
Anyway, let's hope we do sign someone decent in the summer.

Marcus Bent? You do know what your talking about right?

Words fail me if you really think Marcus Bent is the answer to any football team.

We need a goalscorer not a player who cant hit a cows arse with a banjo.
