I’ve seen someone use this quote on the forum recently but I will use it again. “Losing the play-off final could be a blessing in disguise”.

Here is why:

Our younger players will benefit massively from having another season in the Championship. Brooks, Arblaster, Peck and Seriki will definitely thrive more this season and aren’t Premier League ready yet so if we went up we’d of had to replace them anyway (Arblaster because I think he needs another season in the Championship due to his injury).

The last time we came down from the Premier League we didn’t go back up in our first season, losing to Forest in the play-offs but then we got automatics the season after, so why can’t we do it again?

I think a new manager is definitely a must, and if we are going to do it then it needs to be ASAP. The new manager needs to have a full summer transfer window so he can bring in the exact players he wants to fit his system otherwise he would have to adapt to the players Wilder has signed if he was to be sacked at any point next season.

Tom Cannon is also a small bonus to losing the play-off final and hear me out. If he has a full pre season and starts fresh, I feel like he could bang in 15+ goals for us in the Championship next season. I feel like he was hard done by this season coming into a new group is always hard and especially half way through the season. Give him time, and the service he needs then he will start scoring. If he manages to gain momentum and has a fantastic Championship season, then there’s no reason why he can’t score a few in the Premier League if we go up.

We still have a lot of talent and a squad worth a lot of money considering we are in the Championship.
This is the MINIMUM transfer fees we will get for our players if they leave.
Hamer - 12 million
Anel - 8 million
Cooper - 10 million
Arblaster - 10 million
Peck - 10 million
Souza - 12 million
Tyrese Campbell - 5 million
Andre Brooks - 5 million
Harrison Burrows - 10 million
Callum O’Hare - 3 million

That’s a MINIMUM of 85 million from 10 of our players. That can totally revamp an entire squad good enough to get promoted from the Championship. I’m not saying that we are going to sell all of our players but the point is that we are not in the shit at all and our future isn’t all doom and gloom.

Just a reminder that we also have 25 million of parachute payments this year.

Next season I genuinely think that we will AT LEAST finish in the top 6 but I am hoping that we can push for 2nd.

Let’s have a good season and see what happens. UTB ⚔️

We'll see what the new owners ambition is, whether they can persuade Hamer etc to stay, if their intention is a premier league side then selling your best every year isn't a good thing, time will tell as always, but we need better coaching staff and a manager to take us to the next level, I wouldn't turn my nose up at Farke if he got the push

Not gonna lie, laugh at me all you want but I’d genuinely prefer if we sold Hamer and reinvested.

Fantastic player, but can’t play a full game and consistently cramps up and goes off, reminds me a little bit of Lys Mousset. He looks unfit and a bit overweight.

Don’t get me wrong he works incredibly hard whereas Mousset didn’t and is a great player but someone said to me we can sell Hamer and break even, then i’d say yes.

Also that wasn’t me comparing Mousset to Hamer at all, just only based on them being good players but their fitness letting them down.

Id take 20m for us to reinvest in 2/3 quality additions

Think 20m is too high. 12 as a minimum with 16-18m being the highest. Maybe 20 due to Championship player of the year tax, i’m not sure
Jobe Bellingham is reportedly going for 25m so I would say 20m is a fair price for the best player in the league

We shouldn't be looking to sell any of the ones in bold. All are proven top level Championship players which we need.

The other three, we won't get 8m for Anel as he has 1 year left on his contract. If offers are around 3m I'd keep him for the year.

Souza we should be able to get more than 12m for. Hamer who knows - he is brilliant but seems to like a kebab or two so I don't know who comes in for him.

Owners should stick out for at least £20m, Bellingham isn't worth £25m imo, just foreign money talking. Rather sell Souza & Anel than Hamer , whoever goes let's hope it is just one big fee and then use the money for 2 centre backs keep the rest together for one big push next year
