Thought boro were pretty poor tonight but mainly because we actually took the game to them. They had a couple of 5 minute spells but rarely troubled us and we really should have been 2 or 3 up at the break.
Bizarre refereeing decisions, weak penalty decision, clear pen on ohare and was feeble throughout.
Thought Peck, Hamer and Ohare were fantastic. Campbell gives us such a goal threat (should have passed to BBD) and BBD a real handful when he came on.

Likewise - he really needs to start offering more. I watched him score four in one game earlier on in the season and I’m having a hard time believing it’s the same player
I also remember him playing against us for Stoke, he was crap and subbed off at half time

I see what you've done there ..

Add all digits up = 20
20 was the age i first kissed a girl

Wilder 10/10
Team 10/10
Crowd 10/10
Ref 1/10

First time in 2 seasons I’ve come away buzzing at Hipolito well we played, ney, dominated a game

Needed to leave just after 70 to get my train, so I'm claiming credit for those three points

Much better performance. We actually got some good moves going, even if the final ball/finish wasn't always good enough. Has to be said Boro were woeful and Illing Jnr produced one of the worst performances I've seen in a long time. Lots of energy from Hamer and O'Hare buzzing around. Solid in the middle of the pitch. Clarke much better tonight. Formation worked much better but still question marks over Cannon as he is still on a different wavelength. Campbell was so much better when he came on. For all the dominance and bice play it's worth noting that two of our goals were from defensive errors still. We need to be more clinical.

Cooper - 7 - Very solid and good save late on
Burrows - 6 - Not great by his standards, both going forward and in defence.
Robbo - 5 - Stupid penalty to give away. You can argue all day about it, but he gives the ref the opportunity to punish him by being so blatant (I think the ref's line of sight only sees Robbo at it). He was poor on several other occasions as well. Slow in thought and deed at times. Gives the ball away too easily.
Anel - 6.5 - Did well for the goal, albeit a keeper error. Kept coming out first half with the ball and then losing it, but generally good defensively.
Clarke -7 - Much better game from him. Especially defensively, although Boro never attempted to run at him (which is really poor scouting!)
Souza - 7.5 - Good strong game. covered a lot of ground.
Peck - 6.5 - Thought he was poor first half. Gave the ball away a lot but gets through so much work. Great ball for the goal and got better as the game went on.
O'Hare - 7 - Lots of backheels but he's also quite weak and slow. Dawdled too much for the first goal and got caught a few times. We're much better with him on the pitch though.
Hamer - 6.5 - I'm surprised he stayed on but great ball for the first and a lot came through him. Faded a bit second half with the injury.
JRS - 6.5 - Followed in well for the goal and looked a danger first half. Pretty anonymous in the second.
Canon - 5 - Poor again. Not on the same wavelength as O'Hare or Hamer so balls played through are a waste.

Subs

Campbell - 6.5 - Looked much more dangerous when he came on. Terrible miss when clean through and just needed to square it though.
BBD - 6.5 - Does very little in general play but great run and finish for the goal.
The other subs didn't really make much impact.
You should go and watch another sport

Our lads ain't good at the black arts of kidology. And I'm glad the're not. Shirt grabbing is too common in today's game and wants stamping out. The unofficial rule is if both players are shirt tugging then no offence. However cheating isn't in our DNA and the inept ref fell for it. Luckily it didn't come to haunt us due to side's superb through ball to Diaz who ran on and lifted the ball over the goalkeeper to score the winner. Anel's headed corner beating boro's poor goalkeeper who tried to catch the ball instead of punching. A brilliant moment for us blades. Well deserved win. UTB.

absolutely brilliant performance that tonight, the defensive part had been sorted, we were fantastic going forward. back to tried & tested system. i cant remember a better home performance than that. 1 of most satisfying wins since the derby. this might be now 1 of best squads weve had at the lane, because ive not seen a situation where we have 15 players who could be 1st teamers, Hamer, o'hare, JRS were fantastic were such a threat going forward

you cant rave about that through ball from peck enough. world class & what a finish from BBD. as those as campbell showed when you have to time to think its very tough

its been a while since ive seen a referee as corrupt as this. its like he came off the boro coach. at least darren deadman was incompetent. as some of the decision make no sense, of course the main 1. if referees are consistent, we will be seeing a record number of goals at the weekend. we had a offside despite there being 3 boro midfielders 10 yds in front. the 2nd yellow, the penalty we shouldve had on ohare & numerous soft fouls that only boro were allowed

I think the offside was because COH ran back from an offside position.
Agree,great performance.

someone near me made me laugh. when ayling came over for throw in

"Ayling, you were 💩 at Leeds & your still 💩"

This thread was very very quiet when we were dominating and playing so well. Soon as they got the pen the thread livened up and posters appeared with all the negativity and Wilder is getting some stick as usual.

Transparent as fuck 😂
In life statistically, far more people complain, protest, gripe, slag off and bitch about stuff when things are going wrong…It’s a human thing.
But every single Blade will be deliriously happy with that win and performance.

Well done Blades. Happy to admit I got it wrong with Peck, but would have preferred to see him replace Davies as the starter.
Where is Holden?
Wilder got it right, what do I know? 😂

So after all the bed wetting, can we admit CW knows what he's doing... While we're clueless? I was pissed off as anyone after Pompey, but different class tonight. Peck was immense, we just needed that missing progressive link to the attack. 69 points accumulated from 32 is ridiculous regardless of the perceived performance deficit.

Well , what a night ❤️

I couldn't attend due to an event on my side of the Pennines and had too watch on a "delayed TV" function.
Trust me to miss such a performance & atmosphere 🙄

I've woken early , still buzzing - like a lot of Blades this morning , I imagine.

Every defect of which I've complained recently was rectified by CW tonight ...
it's almost like he's listened to what many of us said post-Pompey and implemented the changes desired.

The contrast in style is so stark , I hope CW has now had his Damascene moment and will stick with last night's setup & tactics for the rest of the season.

NOT ONCE did Cooper try to play it out from the back , after doing this every time v Pompey + getting nowhere.
Every time he had the ball he hit it long + that took the pressure off us and put it onto Boro.

We played SO MUCH FASTER than we have all season - the increase in tempo gave us the initiative + Boro barely had time to catch their breath , putting them immediately on the back foot , having to foul us to prevent our domination.
Front-foot football 👍

NEVER AGAIN play Souza & Hamza as a midfield 2 - one of 2 has to be a player like Peck or Davies , who can turn with the ball + make forward progress.

HAVE A WINGER in the team for width.

DEFEND , from the front , like O'Hare does , as if your life depends on it.
Like Colin once said "Yerve gotta feckin die for 3 points !".

I'm not going to rehearse all the stuff we did right or praise individual players - that's already been said on here.

I just want to register my total satisfaction & delight with a performance which shows that we CAN do it ,
if CW corrects what's been frustrating so many of us for so long .
and if the players "want it" enough.

Slow , cagey football not only lacks entertainment , it can't be enjoyable for the players.
Fast , penetrating football is the way.

Who dares , wins
Fortune favours the brave
And all that ....😍

Maybe a bit harsh but give over. Boro were appalling. We played well but display of the season? 2 of our goals were defensive errors. How many other clear cut chances did we create?

Why does it always have to be one or the other? Boro just turned up not fighting and misplacing passes because they felt like it? Do you not think that they were made poor because the opposition was great and never gave them time on the ball?

To an extent, our off the ball play contributed to Boro being dire but they misplaced just about every pass, pressured or not!

Hmmm? I’m still trying to come to terms with why he bought Brewster.

8.28 for Ohare!!!!
I'd sooner have Bugs Bunny up front.
YOU ARE ALL KIN DEMENTED.
Missed two sitters from 8 yards.
Spent more time on the grass than his boots.
Blowing out his arse the last 10 minutes unable to pretend to 'work'.
SHIT nonscoring wilder must have - says all you ned to kmow about imbecile Wilder and the two non scoring 'strikers' he insanely picked.
BBD showed them both how to do it.
Wanker Wilder wasets him on the wings - imbecile.
And NO 10 Jesus scored again between the posts as Hamer and him last game.
Ref made the weather look good. Another clown - looking suspicious;ly like that drugged sacked ref.
ps Wilder almost played football the first half rather than totally destroying the team with anti-football.
First half was a nice surprise.

Still a bundle of positivity Miserable!!! Last line was out of character though

Character posters are so tiresome

you know i watched the highlights of the game earlier on ITV show & that penalty just gets worse. boro player grabs hold of robbo 1st & drags him down at the end. yet Robbo is the 1 penalised. its laughable how bad that decision is

i completely get that we've got to be nicer to referees because the abuse is so over the top at times. but if you are that incompentent & biased. you will bring it on yourself

Still want to see Seriki fit and playing

When he is playing you just know United are going to play better
He's going to be a beast for us when he's fully fit and learns the defensive side. The future is definitely bright
