Much better performance. We actually got some good moves going, even if the final ball/finish wasn't always good enough. Has to be said Boro were woeful and Illing Jnr produced one of the worst performances I've seen in a long time. Lots of energy from Hamer and O'Hare buzzing around. Solid in the middle of the pitch. Clarke much better tonight. Formation worked much better but still question marks over Cannon as he is still on a different wavelength. Campbell was so much better when he came on. For all the dominance and bice play it's worth noting that two of our goals were from defensive errors still. We need to be more clinical.

Cooper - 7 - Very solid and good save late on
Burrows - 6 - Not great by his standards, both going forward and in defence.
Robbo - 5 - Stupid penalty to give away. You can argue all day about it, but he gives the ref the opportunity to punish him by being so blatant (I think the ref's line of sight only sees Robbo at it). He was poor on several other occasions as well. Slow in thought and deed at times. Gives the ball away too easily.
Anel - 6.5 - Did well for the goal, albeit a keeper error. Kept coming out first half with the ball and then losing it, but generally good defensively.
Clarke -7 - Much better game from him. Especially defensively, although Boro never attempted to run at him (which is really poor scouting!)
Souza - 7.5 - Good strong game. covered a lot of ground.
Peck - 6.5 - Thought he was poor first half. Gave the ball away a lot but gets through so much work. Great ball for the goal and got better as the game went on.
O'Hare - 7 - Lots of backheels but he's also quite weak and slow. Dawdled too much for the first goal and got caught a few times. We're much better with him on the pitch though.
Hamer - 6.5 - I'm surprised he stayed on but great ball for the first and a lot came through him. Faded a bit second half with the injury.
JRS - 6.5 - Followed in well for the goal and looked a danger first half. Pretty anonymous in the second.
Canon - 5 - Poor again. Not on the same wavelength as O'Hare or Hamer so balls played through are a waste.

Subs

Campbell - 6.5 - Looked much more dangerous when he came on. Terrible miss when clean through and just needed to square it though.
BBD - 6.5 - Does very little in general play but great run and finish for the goal.
The other subs didn't really make much impact.
Ridiculous ratings, best display of the season and 7 out of the 11 don’t even get 7/10.

Not the worst thing to hear shame as I think he will come good with game time but right now I want to see Campbell starting the matches so at least might force him into that change but a big problem with the bench again then for striker till Moore is back fit
Campbell hasn't played more than 70 or so minutes

Although wilder has said Cannon is "okay" as is Hamer

Everything we didn’t do on Saturday we did tonight, should have been 3 nil up first half, well done to CW for hooking Cannon, not sure whose wavelength he’s on but it’s no one in our team.

Peck, Hamer and O’Hare were fantastic for me tonight, Souza anchored the midfield well. JRS had their full back on toast first half, then we targeted that area with all goal kicks 2nd half as well.

Great to be at the lane having landed back for a visit earlier today, glad I went!

Cannon in a Boot at full time so not sure if the change was forced or not.

Think you're being harsh in ratings and comments. Players absolutely buzzing tonight

We were well worth the win tonight, although we still tried hard to shoot ourselves in the foot.
After the first few minutes we took over the game and were pretty slick in the final third and our build up.
After half time it looked like the game had changed, they got on top and troubled us down our left side for a good 20 minutes, then Carrick subbed that Illing guy who was linking it all up for them down that side and we got back on top.
Giles caused us a few problems down our right, but we broke on them with a great move to get back in front, apart from Campbell still trying to shoot his foot, their heads had dropped pretty quickly.

Big win,i'd say the best we've been all season against a decent team.
Peck,Souza,COH & Hamer were class.
I thought JRS did well and better performances from Clarke and Anel...not a pen for me,glad it didn't cost us.

Maybe a bit harsh but give over. Boro were appalling. We played well but display of the season? 2 of our goals were defensive errors. How many other clear cut chances did we create?

The one on one Campbell missed for a start. Boro were poor but a lot of that was down to how we approached the game and the fact that we have very good players at this level. 18 efforts at goal 9 on target a very good night’s work all round.

We looked better with only Clarke as a new signing in the team…

Every signing from Jan should sit on the bench until needed

Cannon was injured had a ski boot on on the walk round

Maybe but I thought Boro were dire and yet we got two goals from defensive errors. You could probably up most by 0.5 or 1, but most had negatives as well.

Just tell me what game were we better than tonight? If you can't enjoy nights like tonight, just go to Hillsborough, you might feel more at home there.

Think you’ve been harsh on Anel for his goal.

He was strong in the challenge with the defender and didn’t let the keeper have an easy catch. He was brave and deserved his goal.
Still keeper's ball though, although Anel did really well not to foul the keeper and timed his hump well.

For any Blades that didn’t go tonight…..it actually felt special.

For a change….we started like we were on a mission (very similar to how Portsmouth started against us).
Deservedly went 1-0 up….then we dominated….but Boro got a lucky penalty making it an unfair 1-1 score line.
Why does it take bad ref decisions to turn Bramall Lane into a hostile stadium?

The 2nd half was like the old Sheffield United atmosphere….we huffed and puffed…and deservedly won 3-1.
We probably deserved to win by more as a sorry looking Boro were never in it….they looked like a division below us.

In fact…play like we did tonight for the rest of the season….and we will finish top 2.
