Messy game. Absolute defensive farce by us at the end of the half. Great save by Hendo. Stevens not at the races today. McBurnie doesn't look like a top flight player. We need more quality. Fleck been up for it.

Here come the posts that seem to completely ignore the value McGoldrick brings to the team in terms of his link up play.
Thats all well and good if hes playing as a link up man but we need more than one forward at home to the likes of Southampton. Hes already missed too many easy chances this season and with the quality of back up we have he wont get much longer to prove himself

Moose will give that giant bloke on their side nightmares.

Southampton look better than I expected. The Burnely hammering seemed to make them look worse than they are.

Have to agree but what a bench we have and half the game to go.

Need to shut that back door firmly as a priority. Too many chances for an away side.

I want to be proven wrong by McBurnie and Didzy, c’mon, make me eat humble pie.

Seen the sharp red and I can't see how it was red, he didn't lunge, studs not showing and he's clearly trying to play tge ball wtf?

Missed the attacking threat of freeman IMO as much as I like fleck we just weren't creative enough because we brought him back in.

100% missed Freeman, handed the initiative to Southampton not starting attacking enough in the first half.

Gotta drop McGoldrick. How many chances does he want?

Gotta play Freeman too. He's our most creative player.

On the plus side, McBurnie showed that if he gets a chance, he'll score. He's got the most technically gifted player, but give him a chance and it's going in.

Frustrating! Created enough good chances to win that one.
I suddenly hate VAR.
I didn’t think it was red either. Clumsy toe end against the shin.

Agreed. We’ve looked a lot better with Freeman in team. I’m not trying to make Didzy a scapegoat but his misses cost us game today. Need to start with McBurnie & Moussett up front.

If we missed freeman and Mcgoldrick keeps missing which he 100% cannot do at this level then why not play freeman as a CAM in front of the flat 3.

Agree. Never a red. Plus how can a goal be disalllowed for egan being offside when he didnt touch the ball nor did his movement impact on the game.bullshit.

I'm sorry but Egan missed the header and totally wrongfooted the Southampton keeper.

That, though, is why I loathe VAR. Clearly Egan was offisde but without VAR the linesman would have flagged for it 99 times out of 100 and we're not celebrating a phantom goal which was never going to stand. What is VAR again?

I can only think they felt his presence in an offside position distracted the keeper. But yes it’s BS.

It near enough skimmed his head, that’s got to be interfering with play. I’ve no problem with it being offside for Egan.

Can't be mad about losing if you have that many chances and don't put one away.

Interfering with play, shite but it is what it is.

McG, I love you but you need to score some pissing goals. Stevens would have put some of those away nevermind our other strikers. Needs to calm down, realise he's in the Prem and get a bit of steel in front of goal, or move back and compete in midfield as a 10.

Moose looked good.

Henderson was fantastic today.

Watched a replay of Sharp, it's an orange, we won't appeal it I know that.

I think we missed Freeman. Pace and something unexpected in midfield, incredibly harsh on him if he hadn't got a knock. Fleck was good though, but decision making was iffy.

Another suicidal defensive error, this time Norwood stitched us up, though I'm sure Lundstram will get all the blame.
