Not seen it mentioned anywhere and wondering if my eyes deceived me, but was sure I saw a Wednesday player land a left hook on Soutter after a bit of a scuffle behind the goal at the kop end.

Opposition aside I think it's always important to win these park the bus type games from weak Opposition. It seems like when anyone gets some success with it against your next 5 opponents do it.

Just watched the extended highlights and seen several replays of this. Smith just as guilty of shirt pulling as Anel was, and no mention from the commentators of the blatant open hand into the face of Anel from the big useless pig lump?
Must say O'Hare impressed me today apart from sliding the pass through for the winning goal he put a reel shift in chasing down! He was given some shoe like Arblaster and stood firm in front of a ref who saw no evil .
I have been critical of him !
Today he was magnificent
he's lightweight but doesn't shirk anything.Hopefully we will see more from him now.

Yeah same... Goodman whinging about "you just can't do that, defenders get away with it all the time" etc, they were both at it equally, which is probably how the ref viewed it as well.

to say something nice about them, i dont know why & i think this the 4th manager Jos, Manuel, Bruce & Rohl. why dont arrive with more positivity in the derby, as shown by the last 20 mins, yes wilder had set tactically to keep what we had, but they had me nervous, & i would say most of their shots came in that time

& i think that is what sets it up for a dreadful game. because as i said yesterday all the quality that man city & they struggle to find space to break down the low block. im sure even wednesday fans have got to be sick of it, even if they wont say publically

Personally I thought it was a game that came down to tactics from the bench.

First half we had loads of possession which the pigs were happy to give us.

The plan was obvs to get JRS on the ball as much as possible and the plan from them was to stop that happening. They did this well owing to our lack of ability to switch the ball quickly to him and Alfie’s reluctance to play a ball forward in to space for him.

The pigs brief forays in to our half came from our own mistakes.

The tactical sub at half time of seriki gave us more impotus down that side as he overlapped which gave us and JRS more space in the final third and this dovetailed with our best spell of the match and ultimately the goal.

Then we took JRS off which meant Lowe had no threat and they pushed their wide players up further resulting in their best spell where they got in a few times.

However, in a refreshing change wilder noticed this and brought on JLT switched to a three at the back and 2 wing backs and this shut them down after which we looked pretty comfortable.

We won it with that little but if extra quality we have and capitalising while we were on top.

The pigs came with an anti-football 0-0 in mind.
They used time-wasting & thuggery in which the inexperienced ref connived.
This ruined the first half.
If the ref had given them some yellows for timewasting & cynical fouls and a red for Bannan's "out of control" studs out lunge nowhere near the ball , they couldn’t have complained.
What a horrible lot they are.
We should have had a more senior ref.
I hope that Wilder castigated him in his report and included a video of Bannan's assault.

was exactly the type of game and scoreline i expected thought rohl got his tactics spot on fair play to him but boy are they short on championship quality if we had a strike force we would have won by 3 or 4 today only player of pigs i would have is gassama looked pacey and dangerous when he came on and what a waste of money ugbo is league 1 standard like most of their players
I don’t think the powers that be would allow us to have Gassama and Gus Hamer in the same team. 😎

Shea Charles was on his 8th or 9th cynical foul before he finally got a yellow card. Ref didn't have control at all

The old saying derbies are a great leveler wrang true on Sunday.A stat came out yesterday! It was the 1st time in our history any team be it us or pigs has gone 5 games unbeaten! Quality goes out the window and top dogs have a habit of coming unstuck. My opinion pre- game was !
A win is all that matters be it off somebodies arse or whatever way the winning goal goes in, a really good goal won us the game as it turned out.
Need to get our injured players fit now as games coming up after the break will be every 3/4 days
"Relentless" period coming up.

Other than the goal best moment of last Sunday was Seriki’s last gasp block on 75 minutes. The acceleration to get there and the timing to stop the goal. Superb. What a player this lad promises to be.

seriki has to be number 1 choice right back for home games maybe gilchrist for away games theyve both got different qualities
