We dominated the game, won 3nil, another clean sheet, no injuries without getting out of 2nd gear & probably top of the league.
& some on here are crying cos we didn't score 6....I feel sorry for you.
If we scored 6, you would want 7 😭
And as an added an extra we've won 7 in a row, without conceding at home. Yet some people still aren't satisfied 🤣

It was about as straightforward as a win gets, and there was never a moment of tension in the atmosphere.
What I commented on at the game was how 7 years ago, if we’d been winning 3-0 against a championship side, and gone top of the league, the buzz around the ground would have been fantastic. Everyone would have been hardly daring to believe we MIGHT GET TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE!!
Now, we are a lot more philosophical about any possibility of being involved in a promotion race, for lots of reasons.

If your not happy with a 3-0 win you should take up knitting

Dominated throughout..no teams score with every chance....we didn't do a man city and throw away a 3-0 lead

Gave my honest opinion, apart from the goals what was good about the game?
I understand the frustration.
I found myself laughing at my own summary :
"Thats the most frustrating 3-0 win I've ever seen us get"
We clearly had so much more quality and particularly in the second half , were just toying with them.
Knowing how tight the table could be in May , I wanted us to up our GD.
Then again , I understand the "stay in second gear" viewpoint as well.
It made me think of last season.
Is mine the feeling had by fans of top six clubs when they beat us ?
Just bored by the mismatch ?
The difference is that a couple of goals on our GD (which let's be honest , were there for the taking) actually might put us in the autos.

Comfortable three points. Would have very much liked to have seen Davies/Shackleton/someone attacking and drop Hamer deeper for Souza and Peck once it was 3-0

And when we miss out on autos by GD ?

I'm kind of half convinced there are some on here that are so obsessed with goal difference that if offered a choice of leaving every one goal defeat as it is, or going ultra-aggressive in all those games, getting a last minute equaliser in one but going down a second in all the others, would take the former

Well that was pleasing as when I get infrequent pre-match bad vibes I'm more often right.

Absolute walk in the park.

Or one of our multitude of strikers could end up in the treatment room for weeks, busting a gut, ankle, knee for a goal we weren't desperate for.

Well no , coz you lose a point then.
Obviously points are more important.
But points were never in doubt after 3rd goal tonight.

Why do people say we took our foot off the gas?
We missed four fantastic chances in the second half, any of those go in and people saying we really had a go in the second half,
Stupid comment.

Just noticed the 'American Takeover' thread has been closed to further replies or posts , after some posts about Chairman Yusuf being spotted with Bettis last night.
Routine website maintenance ?
Or summat significant ?
It's almost at 25,000 posts so maybe it's full ?

Very comfortable win that was. Oxford worked hard, but are lacking a little bit of polish that's needed at this level. Sure they will pick up points here and there, but they looked a tad frail at the back.

Great stuff from Campbell- another goal and assist. I struggle to see a way that Moore comes back into the team if he keeps up this form.

I see plenty of discussion about us "taking our foot off the gas" 2nd half. While I think we could have scored more against them, I also reckon that if we're having to scrape our way to autos via goal difference, then we should have picked up more points in other games (e.g Coventry on Saturday), rather than pursuing more goals. Middlesbrough scored 6 vs these on Sat, but only got 1 extra goal in the GD column because they conceded twice. Let's not forget our superb defence is also contributing to our GD being higher because we aren't conceding.

On top of that, we've got a far more significant game in 3 days time. Why go forcing the point against Oxford when the game is wrapped up, when we could risk people getting injuries that keep them out of the game vs Sunderland.

We controlled the game, killed off the opposition, and then wrapped some of our most important players in cotton wool for the larger challenge ahead. I'd say that Wilder did the same as any other manager in that situation.

Terrible.game, they seem content playing in 2nd gear where we should be thinking about our goal difference. Gotta up our game considerably on friday. To top it off the atmosphere was abysmal ..... Very
Exactly what we should have done and good squad management.
Having a fresh, fit squad for Friday is more important. We've got injuries stacking up. Anel suspended, played Sat, Tues and Friday coming.
It's was 100% right to do what's was needed.
Atmosphere was poor, but I enjoyed TFC's new song.

Strange match…..brought back memories of the league 1 season when we topped the league with 100 points.

We looked so much better than Oxford is all categories, especially physically, so at times it did litterally look like men against boys.

Plenty of positives
1: We played a slightly weakened side being able to totally rest Gilchrist and Burrows for Friday night.
2: Was in a position where we could afford to make early subs giving Rak Sakyi, Campbell, Hamer etc some rest for Friday.
3: Our man of the match was probably Sereki, seems to look better every game. His power and strength down the wing reminds me of Kyle Walker.
4: Tyrese Campbell is now up to speed and again played well looking a proper striker. He took his goal really well.
5: Felt great watching a match with no pressure, at no point could you see Oxford scoring a goal.

Negatives
1: Oxford were so poor we had the chance to score more but we seems to take our foot off the gas the last 20 minutes coasting to an easy win.
2: The home crowd were quiet but it was a strange game. It was so easy that it was almost boring just waiting for us to score. Altho of course I enjoyed it and we did play some nice quick passing.

In his interview, Wilder did acknowledge that there was a period after the third when we ought to have taken it to 4 or 5 but that was less important than all the other positives
