A game im worried about as we appear ravaged by injuries, hope im wrong and the walking wounded return

Me too, but I suppose Oxford at home, with all due respect to them, is one of the games of choice in this situation. If we can get a 2-0 win with a good few changes to the 11 to give players some rest, that'd be just lovely. Fingers crossed

Going to be an interesting game. No idea who will actually be fit enough to start. Unlikely to be pretty!

The team news at 6:45 is going to be interesting today…. The social media reaction to it will also I suspect be absolutely priceless.

I might put a £10 on them, with our injury concerns and playing for almost an hour with 10, the likelihood of Wilder making lots of changes with an eye on Friday, plus our appalling form for 2 games after international breaks, this could be a huge banana skin for us…. 1-2. Hope not, as we desperately need the points going into Friday as o can’t see any teams around us dropping points in this round of fixtures, and a win against these and again of Friday could really put us a step ahead at the top.

That's a very bold post 😐

If teams around us won't be dropping points, surely wins will keep us in the race, rather than putting us a step ahead at the top?

I also think that being joint top after 16 games is not necessarily a situation where we "desperately" need the points.

That said.... C'MON UNITED

our appalling form for 2 games after international breaks,

The two games after the September international break was a 2-0 win at Hull followed by a 1-0 win against Derby. The October one was two losses to Leeds and Middlesborough. This one was a draw at Coventry plus tonight. Played 5, W2 D1 L2 so far. And given only one of these games was at home that is promotion form still.

I'm interested to see what changes Wilder makes tonight. JLT obviously will come in for Anel, but beyond that will be intriguing.

Who does he think we are capable of performing without tonight?
Who does he feel we need to have available for Friday?
Who does he believe are good enough to come in and provide an equal level of performance?

We know we have an injury and fatigue situation. We could risk some coming back (too) soon, or risk some additional youngsters / returnees instead.
Is it better to do that and only get a draw, but get a better result against Sunderland?
Ie we could put out better players tonight, but be fucked for Friday.
I'd risk lots more youth tonight, even if it meant 2 points dropped, if we can get fresh legs and pick up points against Sunderland.
Stick or twist?

Oxford looked a decent team at the start of the season, maybe they are finding it hard to keep up the level needed and are getting found out, they ran all over Norwich though with high pressing, denying space and time to them and good ball turn over to get possession back.
See if they come and sit back or press us,either way it should be pretty tight for a while and we need to be patient, they have some half decent players,Brannagan has plenty of experience and Tyler Goodrham could be a decent prospect for the future in midfield.

After predicting 2-2 against those sky blue wankers, I'm going 4-1 tonight. With a JRS brace

On paper, Oxford is the game of the two most likely to yield three points. Surely, therefore, the logical approach would be to give yourself the best chance of securing those three points? Then prepare for Sunderland, against whom a win is less likely.
If you take a risk with Oxford, you could end up with two draws instead of a win and a draw
