I was writing Norwood and Fleck off by one game and they have done way better in this one. Can they keep it coming or is it just exception we'll see. I thiught of writing about this middle of game, but then thought not to as it would brake the magic and right after that Norwoods penalty got saved.

I also noticed that Millwalls #16 has been hanging close to Berge like 3rd testicle the whole game and it seems to haveome effect even tho didn't prevent Berge scoring.

1st time I see Anel in action and I really like his energy.

If we play like that for the next 45 minutes we’ll piss this. If we play like it for the next 44 games we’ll piss the league.

Brewster should have been given the chance to get off the mark with the penalty to give him confidence. Piss poor decision to let Norwood have it.
I agree but maybe he didn't want it... He missed his last one for us

That said ... it wasn't the worst of pens and would have been retaken with var, the gk moved well before the ball was kicked otherwise he gets nowhere near it

Good win based on a very good first half display. Defence looks better than it has for a long time. Not a great second half and would have liked to see Mcatee on instead of Osbourne but a win is a win. Well done lads.

Can anybody explain this from the BBC:

  1. 5'

    Post update

Attempt missed. Wes Foderingham (Sheffield United) right footed shot from more than 35 yards is just a bit too high. Assisted by Ciaran Clark.

    Are we playing goalie wag?
That term just took me down a Rabbit hole of memories. There isn't enough comedy football played between seasons. Imagine the charity matches instead of having washed up stars just have footy players with silly play ground rules like goalie wag.

Might wanna draw the line at the ref blowing the whistle and shouting "FOULING FOOTY!"

Good solid win. A very hard working first half where we constantly pressed them and moved the ball about well. They'll be unhappy about the first (as it was a clear shove from Brewster) and gifted us the second, but we took our chances (and we don't always do that). The penalty would have sealed it but Millwall came back in the second half and dominated the possession without really creating much. Weird game really, because even in the first half we didn't create a great deal. Held on quite well in the end, thanks to the CBs.

Wes - 6 - Didn't have much to do but came and didn't get there once.
RND - 6.5 - Solid game defensively but didn't do a great amount going forward. At least drove a bit at them first half.
Clark - 7.5 - Looked extremely comfortable on the ball and very solid at the back. Even came forward a few times
Egan - 7 - Solid and did a good job of organising a new back 3
Anel - 8 - Looks a very good player. A bit too keen at times but covered really well and added a threat going forward
Baldock - 7 - Better game. Got forward well and defended well. Lots of energy.
Fleck - 6.5 - Much better game without being that flashy. Seemed to be more intensity to his game. Clever spot for the second
Norwood - 7 - Missed the pen (not a bad one but it was obvious where it was going) but had a good game. First half he was buzzing around dictating play. We lost control in the second but he kept going and looked sharp at the end
Berge - 7.5 - Really good at times and noticeably wanting the ball more. Had a bit more of an all-round game but also still slow when in possession and gets caught.
Ndiaye - 7.5 - Bets player first half. Took the goal well and was a constant nuisance. I thought he faded badly second half though and started to give the ball away too easily.
Brewster - 6 - Did well to win the pen and worked hard. Buzzes about and closed down well. Clearly getting his sharpness back.

Subs

Sharp - 7 - Very clever, as usual. Won free kicks and held the ball up well. Just what we needed
Jebbo - 6.5 - As was Jebbo. Came on and caused them a problem. Pressurised and didn't give them time on the ball
Osborn - 6.5 - Another who did well coming on. Helped wrestle control back.

Hecky - 8 - After the last game the first half was so much better. We were clearly up for it and played a much more high intensity game. Not giving them a second and they couldn't cope with it. We lost control second half but stood strong and were very well organised. People often complain about his substitutions but I thought he got it spot on today. They helped us take back control of the game

Millwall - They've got a lot of very solid players, especially at the back, but they were lack upfront. For all the dominance in the second half, I don't think they troubled Wes. Bennett and Afobe aren't great, to be polite. They do well this season, but no chance of going up. It was all much of a muchness for their MOTM. Shackleton looked busy and the the tall CBs were pretty good.

Aaaah. Jumpers for goalposts.

The big question...who starts and who is benched? Hoping new lads are ready to take on the free kick specialist from down sarf. God I hope ALL the players are up for it this Saturday.
And they were....the first half yes. Second half, hmmmmm...a win with quality waiting to get up to speed. We are this years Fulham..goals, goals, goals to come...UTB
