Typical United performance poor for so prolonged periods if not entirely first half but turned it around second half managed to build up a head of steam and shit house a 1-0 lead at home.

Well, apart from the goal I cant remember anything about that game, so what, its another step towards where we want to be. Another win and a draw to be certain

It's the result that matters, two huge home wins on the bounce.

McAtee made the difference 2nd half. Much better than that boring and forgetful 1st 45 min. Just Sharp and Jebbo missing and wasting 2 great chances

Thank god for that……

Dire game, excellent result…not far away now!

Thought that was a really good second half myself. We make it so hard for sides to score against us and have real quality that can hurt sides...and that's why we are second in the league with a 8 point lead with 12 to play for

Gladly accept another large slice of humble pie and gallons of custard served up by Hecky & Co tonight.

Hope it never stops.

If he gets us promoted and into our first FA Cup Final since 1936, will we have his statue in the car park next season?

And, if, just if, we win it and qualify for Europe, will The Moor be renamed Hecky Hill?!?

See you Saturday :)

PS: Manchester City 0 Sheffield United 1 (Walker OG, 90+2) ;)

A big 3 points from a fairly lacklustre performance. First half was poor by any standards and whilst City worked very hard to keep closing us down the midfield was MIA. We lacked energy and tempo. Hecky looked like he might kill someone at halftime! Better second half. We looked better with McAtee on (but I thought Sharp actually made more of a difference) and playing higher and suddenly there was some room to play in. It was a bit heart in mouth at times but in the end they faded second half.

Davies - 7 - Made a decent save first half but it was his command of area and willingness to sweep up behind the defence which impressed. Although, there was one he should probably have left!
Lowe - 6.5 - Thought he had one of his better games. It's noticeable he's now trying to get a foot in and get to the ball first and he kept going to the very end with a great cross for Jebbo.
Robbo - 6 - Caught on the ball, which he managed to get away with, but ok generally.
Egan - 8 - PoM for me. He actually got really angry which seemed to spur him on. Made a number of great interceptions, tackles and steal and drove us forward second half.
Anel - 6.5 - Made a few key interceptions but also almost let them in when losing the ball going forward. He did that thing where he just stands as a striker again leaving a 20 million midfielder to cover for him!
Baldock - 7 - Solid and shows great anticipation and touch at times. Lovely turn in their box and was his usual clam self
Fleck - 5 - All the midfielders were slow and off their game first half. They man marked them out the game but Fleck looked slow and behind the play and was rightly subbed off.
Doyle - 5 - I thought he had a poor game. Played a couple of players into danger with stupid balls and nothing really came off for him.
Berge - 6 - Probably our best midfielder, but not saying much. He was slow at times again but was at least demanding the ball. Covering back was better as well.
Ndiaye - 6 - Looked tired and tied himself up in knots at times. Not his night but picked the pass for the winner. Put in a shift as per always.
McBurnie - 5.5 - Had moments and flashes but they were few and far between. Nothing really sticks and he seems slow to react to things.

Subs:

McAtee - 6 - We looked better with him coming on and he has a happy knack of being in the right place. Took his goal well but the rest was a bit mixed.
Sharp - 7 - I thought Sharp coming on made the difference. He was involved in everything and used his experience well to relieve pressure.
Norwood - 6.5 - Again, I thought we looked more dangerous with him on and his willingness to put in first time balls was dangerous.
Jebbo - 5.5 - Held the ball up well on the touchlines and looked lively but that was a terrible miss.

Bristol City - You have to give Pearson credit as they had our card first half. Looked much more energetic and didn't let any of our midfielders play. They seemed to fade second half and there was much more space for us to play in. No one really stood out but they have a few decent looking young players. That Bell lad caused us issues.

Hard watch tonight (again).

3 points is 3 points, but not much swagger tonight.

Almost there. We had more heart stopping moments in the run in with Wilder (Millwall and Bristol City at home in the final run in), so this is far more comfortable, but we're not playing very well are we? A lit better 2nd half, but 1st half was a cure for insomnia
