You need a special degree in 'stating the bleedin' obvious when it comes to Football punditry.

It's a difficult degree and according to the facebook advert for it - 99.9995 % of people get this wrong.

Hence why it's well paid.

Hope to fuck he is fit and raring to go as I can't see our season going anywhere if he isn't. We've had 7 months to date to sort out a replacement so I'm not holding my breath on this one.

For the local football journalist, this time of year must be like picking peanuts from shit . Pretty much nothing happpening and still have copy to write . I'm not apologising for them just doing their trick of stating the bleeding obvious. Today's BBC news headline was Heathrow which was yesterday's news , sport headline was " Andy Murray is still injured" seams to be that nothing is happening anywhere .

FFS. Alan Biggs stating the bleedin obvious!!. He's not a bloody scouser in disguise is he?. He ought to come and work for the Liverpool echo!!!: where would we be without intelligent journalists like Biggs!. UTB

To be fair, he's not wrong. It's close season after all & nothing much is happening locally. Coutts is integral to SUFCs style of play. Proper play making midfielder, keeps the ball when required & brings the wing backs and forwards into the game better than anyone else in the squad. A fit Paul Coutts IMO will be better than any signing we make before the new season starts.

On Sky not long back . , villa v fulham 1ST LEG 0-0
" If VILLA CAN SCORE FROM THIS CORNER THEY WILL TAKE a LEAD"

A statement secure from derision in its simplicity and accuracy
Worth every penny they get
Like the old Jasper Carrott story about the BRMB radio commentator saying (about a shot on goal),"If it had gone in the net it would have been a goal."

It’s not that he’s wrong; it’s that the proposition is so self-evident as to be less than a “world exclusive” and frankly an insult to our intelligence.

Biggs has convinced himself he knows more about our team than those of us who watch it week in; week-out. Still worse, he thinks we need him to tell us.

Arrogance of a special kind. We are blessed to have this legend in his own postcode as our oracle.

To be fair there were some fans who said we'd be ok without Coutts when that didn't prove to be the case.
Interesting, in the article, that Coutts puts some of his success in his particular role at United down to one-on-one training with Darren Ferguson when he was his manager at the Posh.
Always thought Ferguson has produced some good footballing teams and slightly surprised he hasn't gone further as a manager.

I like this article about the new Barnsley manager where his surname changes half way through the article. Is it Stendel or Lendel?!

Little-known German manager set to be announced as new Barnsley boss https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foo...o-be-announced-as-new-barnsley-boss-1-9194328From the Green 'Un football app. Download the app for free today from the Apple App Store https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sheffield-star-football-app/id525074196 or Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.jpress.sheffieldstar

says Alan Biggs on the Star website.

Why has no one ever thought about this before?

At least it’s factually correct and has a snowball in hell’s chance of happening, unlike 90% of the stuff posted on here since the end of the season!

One simply doesn’t “sort a replacement” for Paul Coutts.
Not unless you are wanting to spend north of £8m pounds.

They could have saved the money spent on the "terrible trio" in January and put that towards it.

It can't have cone from his source who told him that HRH had stated Wilder had "crossed a line".

Wasn’t that View from JS?

Be quiet you!

Yes it was. I get these itkr's mixed up :)

On the subject of making incorrect statements about what journalists write, I spent a pleasant evening reading some newspaper and magazine articles I wasn't aware of. They were regular ongoing columns in the Observer Sunday Supplements and I. D. Magazine to name but two. Some of them were the cover story for the edition as well. Thoroughly enjoyable, and you don't get much better than the Observer.

Written by that itsinyerblood bloke that some on here doubted.

We can all make mistakes :)
