Interesting having a scoot around some of our top 6 rivals forums to see what the mood is amongst support. Looks like Southend and Rochdale are buoyant, Bolton are grinding out results and Bradford are struggling tactically. Scunny's forum is like the Marie Celeste. Anyway more grounds for optimism. This is a one off, but

Bolton
Anyway, it was pretty shite, but we won. Playing badly and winning always works for me.
It never seems easy - I'd hate to be Crazy Horse's underwear.
Scunny held 0-0 at Bradford. According to my maths that means two points between the top three?
True, but it's in our hands. Winning on Thursday would take us back into the auto zone - and could also knock Scunny out of it for the first time in a long while, which would be an interesting test of their psychological strength.
First half we should have had 4/5, don't know what the fuck Parkinson says at HT, but time and again we come out asleep for second half, happened too many times for it to be anything other than his team talks, he's so fucking negative, we were so so lucky to hang on at the end, Scunny will dick us if we're not on our game for
90 MINS.
Shit performance. Everyone underperformed. But it's the result that counts.
Left after 80 minutes so didn't see the Shrewsbury goal, but there's no doubt they deserved it and probably more.
Derek needs to be in the starting 11 against Scunthorpe.
Scunthorpe
(Nowt on there)
Bradford
Hanson was utter site today.put you bloody hands down, jump in time of the ball and lead the line.
The timing of his jumping is pitiful. I'm tired of seeing a centre back a foot above him because he's already on his way back down.
Average attendance at home last season was 18,061. To date our average home attendance this season is 18,073!

0.06644 % increase.
Very predictable today.
We were good is possession and our build up play was great today. The problem is, we are constantly throwing balls into the box from out wide, their defenders had a pretty easy game in the end.
Hanson played okay today but I do think we the team would benefit from him being sat on the bench.
Reasonably strong throughout. More positive than negatives. Scunthorpe probably had a bit of an off day as they didn't look top of the league at all, some of their play acting was comical, such as being pushed in the back and going down and holding your face.
Regardless of Scunthorpe on the day, it was a very confident performance from us; a lot of teams might quiver at their league position.
But f**k me we are so predictable going forward its not even one dimensional - it's automatic to get on the wings and look for Hanson. We tried pretty much nothing else.
Thought that was a good performance to be honest. Liked the way to formation worked and we almost completely nullified them apart from one mistake they should have scored from.
I see that Hanson is taking stick already (shock) but I genuinely thought he did okay within the role he played today. Not enough of a goal threat as we know but his contribution to the build up showed that he didn't always need to be flicking it backwards.
Southend
Simples..... If we carry on as we are, we'll get promoted
Another season in the Championship at Roots Hall isn't good though, we're so restricted. PB is doing his job as you've asked, RM, get the new stadium sorted. We won't survive without a new ground.
Fantastic first half from the team but I have to single out Fortune today. What a performance! 35 years old, ran the whole game and was still annoyed at being subbed off at the end. Showed some great touches and hold up play aswell. My clear MOTM.
Another good performance and 3 points, let's keep it going!
I totally agree and I do believe we have enough quality to get promoted this season. I look at our promotion season under Tilly and the first 15 are far better than those glory days. I would expect those sort of crowds along with good facilities, people want comfort now days.
A 3-0 win is a 3-0 win. 11 games unbeaten (after our start) is nothing short of amazing.
New stadiums, new signings, new facilities? For another day.
Celebrate the here and now. Bloody brilliant job Shrimpers!
Rochdale
That was a strange game as I didn't think we played as well as we have done in recent games, but we had enough genuinely good chances to finish about 6-0.
A special mention for Joey Rafferty. I remember a few years ago Morike Sako missing a chance in similar circumstances, but Joe's miss today rivals that for the worst miss I've ever seen. A yard out, no goalkeeper or defenders, nobody harrying him. Unbelievable Jeff! Aside from that he was excellent. Calvin Andrew was my man of the match though, his wingplay is excellent and some of his tackles are unreal!
Actually, my real man of the match was Russ Green, or whoever else was responsible for the crowd-increasing initiative that clearly worked today.
