It's not just Blades fans, I think its football fans in general in this modern wibbly wobbly t'interweb world. Everybody has an opinion - often a strong one based on a colossal amount of information available to us to process and form this opinion. We are entitled to our opinion and we are damn bloody sure that we are going to give it! I've noticed on lots of things - not just football, that people are generally now far more black and white - something/somebody is either fantastic or crap. The middle common sense ground seems to have gone out of the window. So some think Wilder is rubbish and don't want him. Some think Wilder is the saviour and answer to our woes. Same logic with Bindon right now and to different degrees, many other players over the past few seasons.

Back in the day, if you didn't go to the match your opinion was often disregarded ...... "tha dint guh, shut thi fuckin gob". The anonymity that the internet offers doesn't help either. People can sit in their armchair and adopt whatever persona they desire at any particular time, safe in the knowledge that they can wind up or say wtf they want with no come back.

I think you will find that Wilder was well aware Tanganga is a centre back, it's just we did not have a right back - not sure Seriki is a true right back but i personally love to see him getting forward.

Well, we did have a right back... the same right back that's played right back everytime he's played for the Blades... and is currently playing right back now.

Wilder dropped him because, in his own words 'he was part of the losing team'.

The best manager we have ever had is peak Wilder. Those 3–4 years in League One up to top-half Premier League were incredible. Then he had a meltdown and lost the pñot

so nothing to do with Covid, not being blessed with a bordroom full ofbillionaires ,, we rely on our crowd elevating our bargain buys into heroes
the empty souless grounds skowed the gulf in class beteen 20 m pound players and 60 to 100m pound players, we never stood a chance

I wasn't particularly wanting to achieve anything.
but at the time of his return there seemed to be quite an amount of displeasure in certain quarters. Some of it quite vehement against him.
I'm ok with anyone having opinions, it's their prerogative.
But ,in my opinion a lot of what was posted was unwarranted.
Wilder over a few seasons took us by the scruff of the neck and gave us back the club we had lost for too long.
Ok He made mistakes. All managers\coaches do.
But he took us on a journey we'd been waiting for for a long time.
He left\was sacked.
Then came back and was within 15 min minutes of getting us back to the promised land.
Then was sacked again.
To be replaced by someone who was WAY out of his depth. The result of which fucked us royally.
Thankfully (in my opinion) he returned.
To a deal of scorn from a section of fans.
My post was a genuine question to those who doubted the validity of him coming back for a third time.
Only time will tell if it was a good or bad decision.

Fair enough, DJ. I certainly agree with the point about unwarranted comments. Even though we had some cracking times under Wilder, I stand by my view that I was happy for us to try a change in direction. Unfortunately, the choice of manager didn't match where we wanted to go.

Agree with the sentiment regarding Wilder, but your OP is childish and toxic. We need the fan base to come together, not more of this tedious shit.

I think it's always been the way that there are some negative posters, but as you say, more recently its been noticable how some like to try and shut down any counter discussion rather than allow opinions.

Like yourself, I dip in and out of this forum nowadays, I certainly know when to contribute and when not to, Bamford was a good example. I thought it was a no lose short term signing which was of course a little bit of a gamble given his fitness recently, but if we could get him fit and firing, it was a no brainer in terms of his quality. I read the Bamford threads and just couldn't be arsed to post.

Others post “their truth” and scream and shout if anyone dares to offer an alternative view - its pernicious and I dream if the day when we can go back to being tolerant of others viewpoints - best way to learn I find……
