2 reasons not to be 'scared':
1. It's against Panama. I mean, what standard even are they in English Football terms? Doesn't means too much.
2. He isn't even an integral part of our team. It's not like if Brooks goes, the whole project will fall apart. There are 6/7 player and who I am more keen to see stay thank brooks if I'm honest. He's the icing on the cake, but he isn't the cake itself!
Now, I feel I need to add this caveat because otherwise I'll get crifucifed. Yes, I think he has great potential, and has shown real progress so far. I love the way he plays and he's incredibly exciting. I also think people are overstating his value to us, I would still snatch anyone's hand off at £10million+ on January (providing it was reinvested!).
With you all the way until you got to the last sentence. I'm assuming you don't trade in stocks and shares mate? Because if you did I don't think you'd be any good at it. You see, the way it works is, you have to try and hazard a guess as to whether your stocks and shares are going to rise, or fall, in value. And the trick is to sell them at a time when they are at their highest, not their lowest. That's how you make money - buy when stock is low and sell when stock is high. Of course, no one can predict when the price will be at its highest, but anyone with any nouse should be able to look at their investment and have a good idea whether it's likely to increase, decrease or stay the same over the short term.
I know exactly what you mean when you say they are other players more integral to the team than him right now - but honestly, we would be stark raving bonkers to let that lad go for £10M in January. It would be something on a greater scale of lunacy than selling TC to Leeds and selling Deane, Fjortoft and Agana in the middle of a promotion run. Why? Not because his sale would weaken and disrupt the team, like these examples I give. But because we'd be throwing money down the drain - absolutely pissing it into the wind.
Brooks will be worth double that within 18 months, maybe even more like £30M or £40M, if we find ourselves in the Prem. That's the reason why you don't even dream of selling the kid now. It's pure financial sense to hold on to him for longer.
