He's a sensational talent. Never seen a player go past people like him in the youth teams.I think he'll end up playing more centrally as he develops, but it's good that he is developing his game on both sides. Harry Maguire was immense for England tonight too.England's best player on the ball, and excellent defensively, leaving Coutinho, Neymar and Jesus with just pot shots from long range.

I can’t stand posts where they’re basically saying any Tom dick and Harry can have our best players. If we ever want to progress anywher near the top there’s only one way to do it and that’s to keep your top players, especially game changers like Brooks.

Who would we get in this day and age for £10M who would also want to come and play here under a strict wage budget and would be atleast as good or better than Brooks?

Exactly my point and Wilder knows this, that’s why we have the lad for four years, on paper anyway.

If we can’t match the kids potential with the potential of ourselves then Wilder has the clubs best interest at heart and will get a proper fee for him if that occurrence ever happens. Proactive instead of reactive, just the way it should be done and I’m loving it.

If you're making sweeping statements about figures like 'He's worth £12 million' or whatever, think about this... Is Neymar worth 20 David Brooks? No. Both can create and if Brooks played for PSG he'd hardly look out of place, he's got that bit of magic.

Factor in all the fees after x amount of games, fee after international apps, fee after x amount of goals, sell on fee, all sorts.

Someone is only worth what someone will pay for them. How much do a side like West Brom need a player like Brooks? Someone to create something for them. They turned down 30 million for Johnny Evans last season. A poor man's Neil Collins. They regularly turned down 25 million for Berahino a few years ago, half based on potential, half based on excitement on the ball. Rough diamond. Is Brooks any worse than he was a few years ago?

More importantly, and just as relevant is how much he's worth to us. He's not starting, and when he does, we have to change the system to accommodate him BUT we don't need to sell. It's not like we have 6 or 7 players we need to recruit. Would we rather have £5 million in the coffers or one of the most exciting products in the UK? Yes he doesn't always start for us but he's absolutely OUR tool that we use completely selfishly and aren't held to ransom by his agent or the player himself. That's invaluable really. Factor in that to his value. Yeah we could sign a Wes Hoolahan for £7 million, but he'd expect to start every week and potentially disrupt the squad. Rather have Brooks. If we sell him to massively improve the squad then see ya, but him and players like him are the future, they're young and under long contracts, giving us chance to mould them into exactly how we want them. Give me that over the money any day.
