Sander berge

You were put back in your box with this a while ago. That was the position he'd previously excelled in, yet failed at with us, despite your desperation to re write history.

It was not stupidity on our behalf, despite your insistence of hating everything about the club, its' fans and the people of Sheffield.

When Liverpool were linked with him, this was the position being talked about;

He’s literally never played as a CDM for us which he played for genk

He has played as a two or as the right of a three

But barely ever at all as CDM in a midfield 3

He can play anywhere he is that good IMO

Was he playing CDM or Deep Lying Midfielder or what was his role against Sunderland as he seemed bit off at the beginning of the game.

Not his best today

Got the goal though and that's 3 in 8 - pretty much exactly the rate he should be aiming to maintain

Kisses the badge but if Club Brugge come back in for him with the right bid in January he’s off 😂

A tremendous signing showing the resolve to hold on to this lad in the window.

I want to see these players who have 100% impact on every game they play, who Berge keeps being compared to.

It’s made out on here at times that he’s the only one who goes missing, when in reality if some players are performing better then most of the team goes missing at that point.

One of the best players to have ever played for Sheffield United.

And forgetting his footballing ability for a minute…

His overall attitude and professionalism is a different class as well.

It’s got to have been a tough few months for him after some scrote pondlife broke into his personal space and took the belongings that he has grafted hard for… these bastards need their fingers removing may I add.

But despite the above, despite comments from his national manager, despite speculation and links to other clubs….. the lad has knuckled down, he’s trained hard, he’s still putting it in on the pitch and contributing with goals and assists…..and he is still 100% focussed on doing a job for Sheffield United football club.

He is an absolute example of a professional.

Dean Henderson used to kiss our badge, now he kisses the Florist badge, in fact he gets a boner on for them...

Seeing Sander kiss the United badge at the end of the game put a tear in my eye what a true professional this man is. He could have spat his dummy out and forced a move away to a team playing CLF. Even Chelsea came in for him on deadline day. But no he chose to stay with us rather than take massive personal financial gain (which 99% of players would have) to stay with us well done Sander. Now take us to the premier League we’re you belong

He's well above average in this regard. A quality individual

I think it's about time us fans accept Sander for what he is, that is, a quality midfielder and certainly one of the best in this league. Just because he's 6 foot 5, I don't think we'll see him rampaging up and down the pitch for a full ninety leaving opposition players flailing in his wake. He's just not that sort of player, but let's enjoy what he is good at, such as gliding past an opponent as if he wasn't there, managing to find half a yard to put a ball in the box, not being rushed and generally finding a team mate with a pass, good calmness and control even when under pressure and of course adding a number of goals from midfield which we haven't really had for a number of years. Today he even played a poor ball but then ran back about 70 yards and won the ball back as Hull broke away.

Beautifully put.

Not usually one for badge kissing but I’m glad he did that.

For every Sander Berge there’s 999 John Lundstram’s or Aaron Ramsdale’s

He deserves some love from the fans. As it it was brilliantly put above he’s been nothing but respectful and committed to United despite their being offers from other clubs which would have no doubt greatly increased his income and standing in the football pyramid. Like a true professional he was told the number, it didn’t happen, he’s stayed and for what it’s worth does seem to enjoy playing for us.

Lovely to see the fans showing him some love and it to be reciprocated. If someone meets his buyout in January and he’s off he’ll go with a big GLTTL from me - even though I’ll be very sad to see him leave. Hopefully we’re still in the mix by January and he decides to get the job done.

One of the best players to have ever played for Sheffield United.

Is that because he scored? I reckon if we has 3 consecutive poor games then he'll be crap.

Always cracks me up how some of our fans feel this need to exaggerate to make a point.
Lets not forget this is only Championship level. Brilliant attitude though but I never expected anything different.

You can only judge how good a player is if they play in the top division....playing against the best.
It's like saying Keith Edwards is one of our best ever strikers because he scored nearly 40 goals in the 4th division.

To be fair he didn't leave us so much as go back to his parent club, no beef with Henderson.

Obviously I hope he conceded 5+ for now until the end of the season but that's nowt to do with him in particular.

Glides past players like Brooks did but strong and 6ft 5 pretty much unstoppable when he gets going. So deceptively fast as well… suppose one of his strides are 2 of everyone else. Great player and more importantly a great professional. Hope he continues his journey with us for years to come but can’t blame him if a proper offer comes in for him.

just for the records Edwards is (can only score against who he played against) and if was so easy why doesn't every striker score 40 goals in season in the bottom division.

Nothing to do with him scoring, I have eyes, I know my football especially United players. What has the level got to do with anything? Can only judge a player in the top division? Mate wtf are you on about? I never said he’s one of the best players in the top division, I said one of the best “United” players, United are very rarely in the top flight, so I cannot have an opinion that he’s one of the best I’ve seen in a Utd shirt because we are in the Championship? That’s fucking crazy talk.. it’s like saying I’m not allowed to say Sabella is one of the best players I’ve seen play for us because of the league we were in, or that no player can ever be judged for us for the rest of our history unless we are in the top flight, absolute nonsense! You don’t rate him that highly, I do, suck it up, it’s just an opinion..

Oh and King Keith is one of our best ever strikers…

Pleasure to watch, the way he just drifted onto the pass and finished was superb.

Makings of a genuine legend if he sticks round long enough.

A pleasure to pay the ticket price to watch glide across the grass.

We are on a roll. He has been instrumental to this.
