So how is your name pronounced Sander?

Burger

You saw Billy's tweet saying Burge?

Yeah, Burge is fine by me

Top lad Sander - seems so happy to be here, but toughen up u daft bugger.

Berge: “that’s ok, I’m happy with 15 or whatever”

....is given 32.
There was talk of the number 8 not being available so I would imagine Luke Freeman will be wearing something different if he's still here next season.

The first available number was 28. 32 has a strange history of being worn by some pretty big name players including our old friend Carlos Tevez.

15 Jagielka
16 Norwood
17 McGoldrick
18 Freeman K
19 Robinson J
20 Bryan (on loan but still our player: number can't be reallocated)
21 Verrips
22 Mousset
23 Osborn
24 Clark
25 Moore
26 Rodwell
27 Besic
28

The fact he only got to talking about the squad number long after he’d signed the contract, and with the kit guy who’d been directed to just “give him a squad number” should put to bed the classic rumour mill suggestion that “squad number X is being kept for player Y” and is therefore definitely joining us.

Crazy how all media spies on us: today during lunch I opened Youtube and the video of Sander was the first suggestion. :)

Great video. IT shows him as we know him: very cool and down to earth guy ready to grab the opportunity.

Our manager Chris Wilder is incredibly down to earth too He’s spent most of his career managing in the non league, so he’s incredibly humble and normal.

However although he’s from humble beginnings he’s not overawed by fame, big clubs, big stadiums....he doesn’t get star struck and treats players/ other managers like normal people too. He’s used to winning as a manager...his record in his 20 years as a manager is impressive....he’s a winner and a bad loser.......so his team could be playing away to Barca or Real Madrid and he’ll be setting tactics to try to win and will have a belief his team can win. We are lucky to have him.

Could have been something to do with your browser history

Signed for the Blades who were looking at Euro qualification, feel sorry for him,he has made a terrible mistake joining us.

He was the only one trying to keep the ball tonight - due mainly to the fact that there was no-one running off him, creating any space around him or wanting the ball off him.

Felt sorry for him in the end, well actually after about 20 minutes.

Don’t think he played well today to be honest. Looked much slower and less willing to take players on than in recent games. Also got caught in possession too much, like when he first joined us.

Expect he’s the first of a few of our players being hawked about.

Hope PA holds out for £30m especially if one of the bigger boys comes for him

Liverpool supposedly interested also. Agent doing his/her job ?
This is what I mean.

Liverpool paid big for Keita.

Spurs paid big for Hojbjerg.

Arsenal paid £40m for Xhaka and £72m for Pepe.

They can all get their hands in their pockets , he cost us £23m with zero Prem experience and has since shown he can play in the league and can also "stand out" in a struggling team (according to the press).

£30m minimum or what was even the fucken point in buying him?!

He's been selected for the Norway squad later this month. Is he that close to fitness?
Read an article this morning that he'll be on the bench against Chelsea!

Just in time to come back, prove his fitness and pad his stats in time for his transfer.

Might have two Lunny's running around.

We can certainly hope but, realistically, there is enough evidence from the past 2 years to suggest very strongly that, despite the changing of the guard at Boardroom level, we are still a club that is completely out of its depth when it comes to transfer negotiations.

Established Premier League clubs, and even recently relegated clubs who have had a stint in the top flight, are all considerably more savvy than our amateurs, when it comes to helping themselves to the share of SKY money that has been doled out to us. We were the new kid that had its dinner money nicked by the streetwise kids who have been around for years.

Look at how much of our Premier League cash Bournemouth managed to secure for themselves. Or, Swansea. Liverpool was the classic case, of course. Dragging out a transfer saga to the point where we very obviously only had one iron left in the fire and were desperate to proceed with a transfer for a green young striker who had not played in the Premier League, and give them a chunk of money to all but pay for Diego Jota.

These clubs are serious operators when it comes to cash. They have to be as at the top level, it is all about cash.

So, if Sander is off to another club, it'll undoubtedly be for a knock-down price. Let's face it, the club aren't exactly keeping the fact that they're short of cash, secret. And, if serious operators like Arsenal or, especially, Tottenham are in the frame, we'll get legged over and the club will be left peddling some fig leaf to the supporters about how, all things considered, it was a good deal for the club.

Tottenham, lest we forget, are the club that managed to get a 'buy one and get an even better one, (virtually) free' for Naughton and Walker.

In the dim distant pass when we had no business plan and things were done on a whim under the stewardship of mccabe our transfer deals were terrible
We sold quickly to get quick bucks when the need arose.
We hardly bought anyone for big bucks so that is irrelevant

under the new ownership we are yet to sell anyone of any consequence and it is subsequently difficult to teach a conclusion

How many players have we sold; not bought in the years you describe? It's easier to dictate the terms when they are YOUR player. This post is just baseless rubbish until proven otherwise
