If we get those two strikers on loan.... then no way are we adequately reinvesting the Brooks fee.
Unless we go and splash £5m apiece on a centre half and attacking midfielder?
Our chances will improve there if Brentford do what we couldn't and resist a £12m offer for a promising 20 year old.
Poster on Bladesmad with links to Wilder who rarely explains things clearly.
twirlo:
"wages agreed again for galla and offers in for hogan chelsea man u liverpool reserves on loan. player from scotland. i'll learn more tomorrow"
hope there's somat in that
Flying out tomorrow.Wilder has Confirmed on radio Sheffield - that we have 3 bid in.
Hopeful 2 will join before we go on tour (not sure when that is?)
So it Sounds hopeful there could be some movement soon!
Edit - given we are playing Thursday night we must be heading out soon?
Don't think they will both be loans. With the improved budget and 12m for Brooks we must be able.to afford the Gallagher fee, even if it's £6m ?

Record 18 million signing?
Any idea if it's a loan or permanent deal?
Loan, I believe, hefty loan fee, Saints subsidising more wages than when he was at Birmingham.
I hear SG permanent. SH loan.
You might well be right, hope so, be nice to make a player our own.
Maybe that`s why the transfer has dragged on, maybe Mark Hughes was waiting to assess him in training, before allowing him to leave on a permanent.
Flavour of the month last summer, but has had a poor season at Birmingham, so will be interesting if Wilder can get him firing again.
You know football doesn’t work like that.Hogan and Gallagher both scored less than half the goals Sharp scored last season despite playing the same number of games.
You know football doesn’t work like that.
Hogan and Gallagher are good ages, SG played in a struggling team with no confidence, Hogan just didn’t suit Aston Villa’s style.
Even though we have a better budget it still only allows us to get a certain type, we are not going to get a Grabban or Vydra, we have to look for slightly damaged goods but with a good pedigree and potential. SG and SH fit the bill perfectly.
It's surprised me a lot that there hasn't been another clamour for him - it should be obvious to those in football that he just wasn't in a good environment last season.
As no links appeared, on top of reports of an improved budget, it slowly began to appear realistic for us.
Fingers crossed we can get this one done on a permanent, it would be a very significant transfer and one I wouldn't have dreamed of us making only a few weeks ago. It would represent a big step up for us.
I think it’s key to the club that one of these is permanent, provides us with some security against the money we’d be forking our. SG is the easier of the two deals given the state of SHs contract and Villa in general. You could be right, but whilst I am not generally in favour of loans I'd do loans deals with these two rather than chuck multi millions at them.
