Only United could have the sort of budget they've dreamed of for years then not be able to do anything with it.
Because...... wages.
What budget have we got?
£15m
I assume you’ve just plucked that figure out of thin air, like everyone else on here?
£15m
With or without any of the Brooks fee?
True, but sometimes it's all about numbers
One in, one out

For this reason I’m not sure on the wisdom of closing the window at the same time for PL and FL. Surely a week to investigate hiring those who missed the PL 25 man squads would be more judicious.Premiership clubs will not rush to loan out or sell fringe players, they're awash with cash and will wait till they have a good. idea what there named 25 will be,the world cup will also effect what happens as
players come back to there clubs it will have a domino effect on transfers in and out at these clubs.

Today's Star again insisting it would be a loan deal.
Unless we agree a set price to buy at the end of it, this would be poor from us having just sold Brooks.

Tbh, I'd rather do a loan to buy option with Gallagher than get him outright. He's got ability and Wilder clearly rates him but at the same time he will cost a lot and in our position we can't afford to spend £3m on anyone who could potentially be a flop (no matter how much of a sure bet they might be).
I do agree though, if it's just a loan deal with no option for a permenant then I'd be very disappointed. That just means if he does well then he'll probably end up well out of our price range next season.
Maybe we are buying another striker for decent money? And he is to supplement. Then it would be an excellent deal.
I would like a fee agreed so that we could buy him though.
This is where being astute kicks in as you say 3 million won't buy the finished product wilder beleave he can spot potential (Mitchell involved here ) can always get it wrong but being clever with the funds is where were at ,going to be an interestingWhilst I agree with the thought, you can't buy proven players for 3m.

Come on do you really believe that ?
Not sure how long you have supported the Blades but if it's anything longer than 2 year's you cannot really think we would be spending decent money on another striker.
Now Selling Clarke for 50k and a friendly on deadline day i can believe.
