Stoke have Bergovic and Simonson. Premierleague clubs have to drop a quarter of their wage bills.
Simonsen could be here full time and is a season long loan any different to a normal signing anyway.

Ask that lad Reid at Charlton

Yes, because I suspect that like last year we're going to need all the loans we can get most weeks.

Season long loans.........nope, not ringing any bells.

UEFA are bringing in a law in regards to team participating in Europe keeping debt under control. As a result it is said that most premierleague teams will need to drop at least a quarter of their wage bill. The likes of Stoke etc; will need to get rid of people like simonsen who is 3rd choice there.

A recall on a season long loan was a mistake I don't expect us to make a again.

United are also believed to be seeking advice as to whether the terms of Kenny's employment, drawn-up before the arrival of chief executive Trevor Birch, render the clause null and void.

Oh dear. Brewery and piss-up.
Clueless set of numpties.

The likes of Stoke aren't qualifying for Europe...seriously, that rule won't have much impact this offseason, as far as I can tell.

The changes wont come about as a direct result of that rule, but many PL chief Execs and those in control of finances will use it as a way of reducing salaries. Many clubs are not far away from doing a Pompey or a Hull and need to cut back spending significantly. It's not high level, complicated financial management to see the minimal impact of reducing 3 first-team salary keepers to 2 with a younger new pro as the third, saving 10-15k a week or over half a million a year.

Nothing wrong with it Lenners, this is where Tricky's insolvency expertise comes into play. Looking at contracts and ekeing every last penny out if it - which to be fair is what we'd expect anyway.

It's obviously dawned that the best keeper in the tier is leaving for a paltry £750k to a club that could pay alot more.

Seriously, Stoke will be thinking about trying to qualify for Europe this year. This doesn't mean getting your house in order next year... it mean's now. Not many clubs make money, and the ones which don't like us have to make decisions to improve while not losing money. This is why I don't think the Paddy deal for the said 750k would be too bad when we could sign someone like Simonsen who can't be on much more than what Paddy is on. And I am sure Stoke would make the difference up to get him off the books.

Just you wait to see how the likes of Hull and other debt ridden clubs will get rid of their players this summer.

this could also have a large bearing on how many players a club has on it's books.

Hmm. Simonsen contracted to club in richest league in the world who could comfortably afford James Beattie.
Kenny manages to get a contract after failing a drugs test and consequently not being available for nine months.
Wages similar?

Stoke are not comfortable. Most of the Premierleague are like Sarah Ferguson. Has access to loads of money yet manages to blow more than she gets!

Sorensen has always been the reserve keeper at Stoke. Don't think his wages are going to be like 15k because I promise you they won't be.

I am guessing but I think there will be more out's than in's for the middle to bottom half if the transfer league.

There was a large percentage sell on agreement with Bury in his original contract; I would guess it is still in place but if we’ve been cute [never!] it would only have lasted the term of his first contract and the one that he is on now wouldn’t have it in.

Who knows?

Not necessarily a mistake just the best deal you can manage to negotiate?

and the sell on clause could leave us with £562,500.00 for Paddy.

Less the wages we paid him when banned of circa £300k - leaving the banker of Blades Realty Ltd, I mean the player fund of SUFC Ltd, with £262,500.

Is the keeper at Fradi any good?

Stoke won't need to get rid of Simmo, because as far as I'm aware he'll be out of contract in a month anyway. He extended his contract in summer 2007 till summer 2010. He is however on their retained list.

He has the same agent as our Darius though and will be on more than people would think at Stoke.

I'm saving that one away in case he stays.

You've spent most of the last few years deriding him as being not tall enough and not good enough. Amazing how your view on players changes the moment they exit the club or appear to be on their way.

I'm going 4/7 that you praise Monty's displays for Leeds next term at some point and 4/9 that in doing so you blame McCabe and Blackwell for letting him go.

No, he's better on a Satdy

:gallop:

bud dum tsch

Very Good

As far as I'm aware the keeper at Fradi is Maltese superstar Justin Haber, who I've only seen play once, in a friendly against Germany and wasn't too bad.

Wrong. I might have said his height is a problem but I rate Kenny. Maybe best in tier is a bit much but I rate him highly and we need him badly, which I know is a different point.

Wrong. I will never blame us for refusing Monty's wage demands. He may well be effective on occassion for Leeds but I'm sick of watching him play for us.

Not strictly true as he was their regular keeper from when they signed him (for over £3m) up until they got promoted and signed Sorensen.
I wouldn't even hazzard a guess at his wages but I would wager it's as high as any of our players.

You couldn't write this stuff .......

Paddy Kenny, 31 years old break the rules and gets banned for 9 months. Out on his ear and looking like his career might be finished, his loyal club Sheffield United offer him a contract. Paddy is over a barell. The Blades negotiate a contract and Paddy's career is resurectured/saved. He plays 2 games in the close of the season.

Suddendly QPR bid and, despite Uited not wanting to sell, Paddy is free to leave if he wants to due to a clause. Who the fuck agreed this clause???? Now, after 2 games and an offer for QPR Tricky Trevor is looking for Kenny to sing a new deal. WTF??!! What an absolute shambles.
