I genuinely thought Hamer had to do that foul and take the booking. They were through and Burrows wasn’t there as he’d bombed forward on the overlap.

Whilst it looked clumsy, I think he had to do it.
Contrast that with Brooks chasing all the way back from the QPR six yard box to make a recovery run to just inside our half. When he caught up with the player, instead of lazily pushing the player from behind, he gets level, challenges fairly, wins the ball, comes away with the ball, and passes it on. All without getting a yellow card.

Hamer CBA to do this and that’s why he gets suspended for an accumulation of stupid bookings every season. He doesn’t have to “take one for the team” for most of those occasions since they’re not normally that dangerous. He doesn’t it because he can’t be arsed to chase back any further and hold play up.

But Brookes is quicker than Gus and can do that, and crucially the player Gus fouled was quicker than him and would likely have got another 10 yards unopposed and put a cross in our box

Gus has a lot of qualities but pace isn’t one of them. It’s not a lack of effort.

I’d agree that Gus does give away needless fouls and bookings, I just don’t think yesterday’s was one of them.

Davies did what he had to, one mad race out where he looked like Ralph Wiggum going through a window
This is an underrated description, captured his exact movement to a tee.

Pleasing thing was how the crowd just seemed to chant his name with even more enthusiasm after each dodgy moment.

Thought it would never be said but
1/ Taking Chong off weakened the team and let QPR into the game
2/ Campbell as just had three good games for us
P.s. pleas try to sign Hoever

Campbell was excellent and while Cannon did win a few headers other than that was poor. Did a lot of running but not the right running. He doesn’t make the correct runs for a forward and tends to be reactive. Many times a slide ball into the channels was on but cannon didnt read it.
also he is not strong enough

Which one is blind?
Giddings .. gets all the players mixed up, yesterday mixed up O’Hare and cannon, also tied to claim Davies had saved a shot that went half a foot over the bar.. my favourite this season was at Charlton when he miss identified Cannon with McCallum

As DB was too cheapskate to pay for it 😉….here’s my two penneth..

Ratings and thoughts

A Davies.. 6. All feared the worst but he had virtually nothing to do, still had a couple of moments of concern a rush of blood when he came charging out and flapped at a couple of corners.. I fear what Wrexham would do up against him but all in all a big sigh of relief all around.

Hoever 7. defensively composed and a few decent runs down the right first half, said early in the week him and Chong might start and they linked up well

Tanganga 6. Did what he had to in the air, a few shakey moments on the ground but okay from him.

Bindon. 7. Good game from him did not allow Kone to Bully him and apart from the (rightly) disallowed goal defended the hoof well.

Burrows 7. Having his best spell of form of the season a few aimless ball forward 2nd half but all in all both full backs had solid games,

Jairo. 7 his partnership with Peck is such a good one, first half they were in complete control of midfield, shame he still gasses out on the hour mark.

Peck. 8. Another one having his best spell of the season, best midfielder on by a country mile on the pitch MOTM.. I don’t see us keeping him this summer if he continues to play as well as he has the last month.

O’Hare 7. Good typical buzzing performance especially first half got his goal, must be a pest to play against

Chong. 7. well who’d have thought it> composed in possession and hard working out of it. His best in a Blades shirt easily.. linked up well with Hoever.

Cannon. 4. I suppose he puts the effort in now but even first half when we were miles on top he was invisible.. became a thankless task 2nd half after Campbell went off.

Campbell. 7. He woken up the last few weeks, runs the channels, puts the centre Half’s under pressure.. basically everything he was doing last season not this and a terrific goal.. was suprised he was subbed not Cannon.

Subs,
Brooks. 5 Never looks as good off the bench as when starting had good chance on the edge of the box which he nearly hit out the stadium.

Hamer 5. Poor I thought gave the ball away and gave some daft fouls away.. picked up his customary booking.

Arblaster 5. I am giving the guy a pass after the injury but he was poor also when he came on. Big summer for him to get fit and hopefully back near his best.

Bamford And Hjelde too late to make an Impact or give a rating.

Wilder 7. Good professional away performance indeed first half I would go as far excellent.. only loses a mark from an 8 as his subs didn’t work and tuned the game a bit scrappy.

QRR.

Dreadful really, not as bad as Wednesday or Charlton but not as good as Oxford. The only idea they had was lump it to Kone. On today’s showing I am really glad we didn’t sign Kone or Wikder target Dunne who was bang average as he always seems to be whenever I’ve seen him.
Cheers.

My feed is normally fine but only pay a small amount a year (not much more than a tenner for the season!). Can see why now! Although tbf it normally works fine so I'm OK with the odd time it doesn't. There's so many on sky/red button or I go to, I think there's only about maybe a dozen I have to find erm, less than legally. If I had known it was not working, I'd have coughed up a tenner but too late then.
