We laugh at Wednesday but to be fair we are only slightly less of a joke than them. The chairman and manager both publicly state how much it hurt us last season to lose kenny yet they know he now has a pathetic 750k release clause. There is.no ambition at the club its blatantly obvious

i can't believe anyone is surprised ,I posted all this last week but was accused of being a rumour monger.
Like I said before I believe Warnock is meeting paddy on Friday.

This is a case of going going gone I reckon.

IF so it really does show how low we are getting and unless some decent signings are made in the next month then we will be looking at the other end of the table next season.
 
I have lost any hope of us keeping Paddy, but there's a silver lining to every cloud, if he goes, chances of Warnock wanting Speroni will rapidly decrease, surely opening the door for us. I'd be a lot happier if we got Speroni as replacement, we won't be able to afford Simonsen anyway, just so long as he doesn't sign an unknown or someone who is totally and utterly shit. Although, the runner up of this ridiculous Vietnam show may be the next Gigi Buffon....
 
This player recruitment process is going really well. Good job we already had a large squad.
Like many others who are walking away, I've lost complete faith in McCabe.
I no longer trust what he says. It looks like a case of getting as much money out as he can from now on.

Given that fuck all is happened I'm reserving judgement, but if we lose Monty and Kenny I would seriously consider sending back my Season Ticket.

Splendid thoughts. However, it's the close season, we haven't got any actual games to talk about, Hoofy is still the gaffer and we haven't made a sale or signing.
That sort of limits what we might actually talk about somewhat. If we weren't debating the possible comings and goings we'd be left with the last episode of the shit Lost, Walthy's retro trackie obsession and whether we think Hoofy being better than Robbo is a cause for mass celebration. There'd be nobody here!!!!!

Now, anyone got any nice milkshakes or fatty coffee drinks they can recomend?
 
Do you lot seriously think the board will have wanted to place that clause in his contract? (if it actually exists that is)

We wasted a season without a proper keeper in the apparent knowledge Kenny would be our keeper again and now find ourselves just over two months from the start of the new season potentially without a keeper again.
It's farcical management.

Totally agree. As stated elsewhere, the worrying thing is that at the forum he went on about missing Kenny in full knoweldge that this clause existed (if it does, which seems very likely). There is no point in the forum if information like this is witheld when talking about a player who I believe they were trying to convince fans was staying put. McCabe will say at the time we expected Kenny to our keeper in 10/11 but we received a bid but it is impossible to take him at face value now. I must stress that I don't expect clubs to divulge information like this but why have the forums in the first place?

Again, the key word is "if" and even if it does, if it's as simple as it's being made out. Why does it seem very likely?

Like I said earlier, they are talking with Paddy's agent (and others) about new contracts at the moment. Whatever happens, they clearly at least have or had intentions of him staying put.

As to any clauses/intentions, we'll soon find out.

As this is a "rumour" started, on here at least, by Sitters and, apparently, perpetuated by the BBC then it may have some substance. Or it could be complete bollocks. Where's your money going?

However, if it does I would expect "the board" would have the wherewithall, or indeed, the gonads, to not have such a clause foisted on them. We were paying a moron 9 months wages because he broke fundamental rules and couldn't play. We could have told him to go fuck himself but we didn't. I would have thought we may be in the driving seat when the negotiations kicked off, oh but hang on I forgot, it's those Pesky agents again isn't it?

What I'm saying is that in all likelihood the person who wanted that clause in the contract is Paddy. If he had left for nothing this summer and gone to QPR, after not signing that contract, there would be uproar.

It'll be very frustrating if he does leave but that could be a long way away yet. We don't know if the clause exists or if we have to/are going to accept the bid.
