Tricky Trevor is looking for Kenny to sing a new deal.
Watching him keep goal is one thing, I suspect hearing him sing would just be unbearable.

Now, after 2 games and an offer for QPR Tricky Trevor is looking for Kenny to sing a new deal. WTF??!! What an absolute shambles.

You couldn't write this stuff .......
Paddy Kenny, 31 years old break the rules and gets banned for 9 months. Out on his ear and looking like his career might be finished, his loyal club Sheffield United offer him a contract. Paddy is over a barell. The Blades negotiate a contract and Paddy's career is resurectured/saved. He plays 2 games in the close of the season.
Suddendly QPR bid and, despite Uited not wanting to sell, Paddy is free to leave if he wants to due to a clause. Who the fuck agreed this clause???? Now, after 2 games and an offer for QPR Tricky Trevor is looking for Kenny to sing a new deal. WTF??!! What an absolute shambles.
This is from the poster who is very well informed from another board. Posted a while back that it was looking likely he Paddy would be leaving to the disbelief and dismay of many posters:
"Did try to point this out sometime ago about the news thats breaking today, remember where you heard it first altough there were doubting thomas's ( would i post on here if it was'nt factual ? :-/ i think not) , even doubting thomas's supposingly ITK fowned upon this one, TUT TUT
£900k agreed , terms done, clauses done, fine tuning friday afternoon, then cheerio
By the way i do feel sorry for Blacky on this one, and some other rumours relating to this may decide Blackys next move
UTB & FTP"
I'd certainly like the bit about blackies next move clarified!
If Paddy does in fact go, we've missed out on another potential replacement: - Kasper Schmeichel who has just gone to Leeds on a free.
He would have been a good one to look at in the event of needing a replacement. Just a shame we fudge around with contracts and clauses giving us no time at all to get in front of other clubs for players.
As ive said before I believe Paddy will stay but if this speculation goes on for ages and he goes whilst we miss out on player after player there could be some unhappy Blades
Wow. 8 pages about a rumour regarding a player who still plays for Sheffield United.
I get the feeling some people want him to go to to QPR so they can crank their anger dials up to 11.

That's because we're just not as loyal and passionate as those paragons of virtue at S6 that you admire so much.

But then I don't think Unitedites are a big bunch of wankers like some seem to.
There will be some people who are happy because then it will be just another stick to beat Blackwell and the management with.
What? Your nonsensical posts never cease to amaze me. All fans on here want what is best for Sheffield United football club and to say that they'd be happy to sell (arguably) the best keeper in the Championship to 'get on at management' is just plain silly. There might be pessimists and people who are pissed of with the current situation, but you're just being over the top.

I don't admire anybody at S6.
Many apologies.
I must have completely misunderstood your posts on the

As usual, there are people openly saying that they want Kenny to leave if it means Blackwell will ultimately get the sack.
It is a rumour that Kenny is going to QPR. People are speaking about it as if he has already gone.
Yes QPR have put in a bid but the deal could be completely dead in the water for all we know.
No.
I don't get comments like this.
What are you actually suggesting? That we shouldn't discuss Kenny going to QPR? The clause in his contract? The amount bid for him? None of it until there's statement saying he's gone?
Which bits are ok with you?
And when we do tell you the news Dunc [like Blackwell is shit] you chose to pretend that it is an untruth.

Nuddy would you be happy if we sold Paddy for 750k? Happy with Paddy for not sticking with us, Birch for allowing a stupid clause in the contract, the board for getting 750k for the best (arguably) keeper outside the premiership?? (what are the odds you'll not answer this/these questions ..... I'm giving 1/4)
I am reasonably ambivilent about Blackwell, but what I do know is repeating something endlessly does not make it true...
Oh I know. Speaking of which, I reckon we're very close to these gems being given a run out, perhaps as soon as tomorrow:
"we couldn't stop him leaving even if we wanted to"
"his agent held us to ransom"
"a good deal for the club"
None of this 'proves' anything other than the fickle nature of life, and football in particular. My only surprise is that I appear to be the only one not to be surprised by it...
I wouldn't like to think about some of the comments on here if we'd have 'done a Man. U' a year ago. They lost - and haven't replaced - two superb players.
I was responding to Grumpy's assertion about Blackwell rather than the Kenny situation, but no matter.
First, I have no idea about whether there is an approach from QPR. They have denied it, but then these things are said very easily. I dont know if there is a release clause in the contract because I haven't read it. Maybe there is, maybe we are holding out for a couple of hundred grand more, maybe its all bullshit. We will find out soon enough, but its not worth vexing about.
I am certain that at this time there are lots of rumours and speculation, as there is every year. There are lots of agents bigging up their players to get lucrative deals, and lots of journo's trying to fill column inches and minutes on the TV. What better than a 'Sky Sources say...' to take up 5 mins on Monday, and a denial from the clubs and the player on Tuesday to fill another 5 mins. As one of our number would say...'Its not rocket science...'.
If the 'if, could, and maybe' come to pass and we sell Kenny then his transformation from chump to champ will be complete. Good keeper, sure, but not without faults, and certainly not irreplacable, but we'll have to see what we replace him with. The club has been pretty good in recent years in getting deals done under the radar, and I am prepared to wait and see. It is not the end of the world.
If we do sell him then getting him back on contract when he could have walked for nowt was shrewd business. If he is being offered three times the wages, then you can understand his motivation. If all things were equal, then you'd expect him to stand by the club that stood by him, but money talks. Lets not pretend that any of us wouldn't do the same given that offer.

Birch " I'm sorry Paddy but that's the best wage we can offer in the circumstances"
Paddy's agent " I'm sorry Trevor but we think that Paddy is worth a lot more than that so we're not prepared to sign at that level unless we agree a realistic release clause"
Speculation on my behalf but what would your response have been?
