How are referees held accountable? Players can't say anything on the pitch, managers can't say anything in the media.

They should be ranked for each match by the FA and this published - then you will see how deep the bias runs

With the amount of complaining by City players they should have had more bookings.

The ref was dishing them out to us like sweeties in our game against Palace.

Last 2 home games against 2 experienced Prem teams that know how to con refs into getting fouls and getting away with not giving a foul. Expect it all season bar Luton, Burnley, Forest.

Couple of things in particular for me.

The Osula booking. No idea what that was about, even their players thought he’d blown for our free kick there.

The penalty. You can argue about whether it was handball or not all day long (personally, I’d say not) but the ref couldn’t give it quick enough. I guarantee that he doesn’t give it as quickly if it had been us.

Time added on. 4 mins added on in the first half and he plays over 5. 7 minutes added in the second and he blows his whistle bang on 7 minutes. Doubt it made much difference to the score but he was happy to allow a bit longer in the first half when they were after a goal.

I thought the exact same about the penalty. Usually refs would take a few seconds to think about what they’ve seen but he nearly had the whistle in his mouth before it touched egans arm 😂

I haven't been as angry at a game for a long time. He couldn't wait to give them a freekick every time Grealish or Silva fell over, but numerous pulls, barges and pushes on our front two went unpunished. The Osula one where he was fouled and not only did he give them the freekick but booked Osula too was beyond a joke.

Mustn't upset the big boys. If anyone saw the Van Dijk sending off, it was as if he was saying, "do you know who I am? You can't send me off" TAA should have gone before that and the ref bottled it. If that had been one of our players, they would have been straight off.

It's a fucking disgrace this league, I absolutely hate everything it stands for.

Like I have said already Mike Dean has let the mask slip. It's an old boys club of mates officiating matches.

Is there a video of the Osula yellow? Only seen it real time from the kop.

From the Twitter bollocks we got in real time from the armchair City, I can only assume Osula catches him with his trailing arm…

As someone else eloquently put it in a WhatsApp to me… So badly in fact, that he was alert enough to pull him down so he couldn't get away… before holding his face in AGONY.

The game was fixed today. If city had scored a couple of early goals, the bent ref wouldn’t have given them the soft decision he did. Wouldn’t do for a little club like Sheff Utd to win today, that might mean the champions league might be missing one of its main revenue generators come the end of the season. If we play as well against Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U then expect the same shit.

I watched the game in a random bar on holiday... so with benefit of replays.

There was a bit of a pile on in our box where haaland cried for a pen, replays show he ragged egans shirt so much the he pulled Egan onto him and ref gave nothing, it was clear as anything and yet, ref waves play on. If he'd have scored, would they have even bothered checking it?

On one occasion Haaland slaps Anel I think. Anyway, he slaps him across his chest. Ref sees it and calls them both over to have a word. Doesn’t show him a card. I thought the rule was “striking or attempting to strike an opponent “ Clearly bottled it. Perhaps we should start playing dead in these situations, and await the miracle healing waters of Lourdes, aka the bag man’s mucky sponge.

You wonder if the clear bias and favouritism can ever be truly stamped out. It would probably go a long way if fans could put aside a their own club leanings, agree shit refs ruin the game they enjoy and so call out shit reffing when they see it. Fat chance of that though.

Case in point, I went on the main City forum to see their reaction and they were pissed off with the ref too but because he wasn't bias enough. Reading some of the comments, you'd think they'd had everything against them but looking a bit more closely and it's clear their main takeaway seems to boil down to "Man Utd always get so many decisions and so much help from refs, it's just not fair....we only get 80% of them. We should get them all too."

There is no way of dealing with ref bias , but I think we have to go down a bit easier and stay down when fouled - that's what the top six teams do

For those unfamiliar with Jared Gillett - He's the Australian ref that was 'mic'd up' for his last match in the Australian A-League.

I loved this video and thought he came across as a decent guy - but today has made me despise him. Fucking ozzie kangaroo shagging deep throating koala.

Cheating bastard in city's back pocket all game. Probably salty that he can't use sandpaper to help city even more. He needs investigating for match fixing. So utterly and completely biased it was a joke. Bent bastard.

I worked with someone who was previously a Premier League referee, he was an oafish prick. On a work night out he explained to a close friend of mine that there is a strong Masonic influence at that level. And, if anyone cares to read my posts, I’m not one for conspiracy theories. I’m of the belief that football is corrupt.

FIFA is corrupt so why does anyone think the leagues and the refs are not?

I should probably pay more attention to the Laws of the Game, but does it say “no matter whatever the circumstances, if the ball hits a defenders arm then the referee must, dramatically, point to the spot”?

Just to add, the FA have their own Masonic Lodge.
